We, myself wife and 2 kids, live in the historical place called Fort Cochin. It is just a 5 minute brisk walk to the beach and the remnants of the old Fort. We are situated just opposite the Maritime Museum and the road in front of the house was one of the first built, with shady trees lining the route. We have just started in 2015 with three rooms and would be happy for booking long term/ year round clients. Breakfast and Dinner can be provided. (Chargeable). We will provide all support to plan, organize, visit places of interest in Cochin as well as the whole of Kerala, with a background on the historical significance of this place.

Arthur’s accomodation is spacious and comfortable. Arthur was a warm and attentive host. He arranged for our transport, provided a delicious Keralan breakfast and shared his knowledge of his home country. Best host ever - thank you Arthur.

I stayed only a few days as I was called home due to family crisis. The accommodation was comfortable, and only a short walk from the main beach. Arthur was extremely helpful in arranging my unexpected departure, which clashed with a local demo and the airport buses were not running. He booked a cab and escorted me to the airport himself. Highly recommend his place for a long stay.

Arthur and Sigy’s home was just what I needed for the 3 days I spent in Kochi. The room was airy, bright and clean with en-suite bathroom and a private balcony. I could come and go without disturbing anyone as the apartment upstairs was separate to the family home. It was within walking distance to the sea and the city centre - but not too close. I really enjoyed my chats with Arthur about the history of Kochin and he went out of his way to contact a neighbour for me so that I could find out more. I really appreciated the kindness and warmth. Thank you!

We had a short but amazing stay at Arthur’s house! He was so welcoming and helpful and so was his family. The room was clean, and very nice and so was the breakfast! If you come to Kochi, I definitely recommend Arthur’s homestay.

We arrived quite late to the homestay having travelled from Mysore to Calicut and then on to Kochi by taxi, train and another taxi. Arthur and his family were great. So courteous and helpful. He immediately organised us a platter of food - we only wanted fruit but we got a range of these to satisfy our appetites. During our stay they were sensitive to our needs, organising breakfast around our schedule , arranging the trip on the Backwaters we wanted and giving us travel advice for places we wanted to visit, including bus timetables and comprehensive directions to Marari Beach about 80 minutes away, and how much to pay the auto rickshaw for trips into and around town. Arthur even made me an ayurvedic remedy one evening for a stomach upset. The accommodation was very comfortable and only a short walk (5-10 mins) from the beach although not a beach we particularly wanted to relax on. It was very hot when we visited as it was the end of the season and getting closer to monsoon season so humidity was high. There are mosquito proof covers over all windows and doors. The fans in the rooms were effective but I kept my windows open to help the air circulate too. This meant it was a bit noisy as this homestay along with many others are on the perimeter road but this settled by about 11pm and was nothing a good pair of ear plugs couldn't diminish and certainly didn't detract from my experience. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
