Live in a stylish room with an attached full bathroom, within a lovely 3-bedroom flat in a quiet place located a little away from the buzz of Calcutta and yet well-connected to it through AC buses, uber & auto. It is 30 mins from the airport. The flat is full of character, filled with books, paintings and modern gadgets. If you are culturally-oriented, then this will be a treat. Go for long walks here. NRIs, researchers and foreigners are especially welcome. BREAKFAST INCL. You can choose from wheat-bread, oats, eggs in all forms, peanut butter, cheese-spread, tea, green tea, coffee (expresso, capuccino, mocha, americano), honey, etc.

About the Area
It is a very large complex with tall buildings, surrounded by shops and street food joints. There are clean straight roads where you can go for long walks. Anything can be home-delivered. There is a list of menu cards in the house from which you can order. The flat is on the top floor (14th) and you can go to the rooftop from where you can get a spectacular view of the city. The back gate is only a minute away and leads to different shops (including Japanese street food). The front gate is a 5 min walk but you can also use electric Toto for ₹10 to go to the gate. Outside, there is a permanent mela after 5pm, with hundreds of shops, food, fish/meat market, Spencer's supermarket, saloons, sweet-shops (Jalojog, etc), dhabas and proper restaurants, bars. Alcohol and medicine shops are also all over the place. It is a terminus for AC and electric buses as also autos, cabs and regular city buses. Uber is available at all hours. It is 25 minutes to the airport and there is a direct bus connection with Howrah station (AC12) for just ₹40. With several luxury complexes around, it is shaping up as a major neighbourhood for living. I recommend taking a 10 minute walk down to the Iskcon temple after 5pm or a visit to Arts Acre which is only 3 km away. Share-autos take you to Amity U, Vedic Village, Eco Space, New Town bus-stand. A visit to Eco Park is a common attraction.

House Rules
There are no rules. You will get a separate key and so you can come in and leave as you wish. No loud music please because I am always working in the next room. Please do not put on too many high-voltage equipment at the same time. For example, you cannot have the geyser and the AC and the grinder all on at the same time. There is a loading limit and the whole system might trip.
Smoking Rules
Your host is a non-smoker.
Smoking is allowed indoors and outdoors.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
