Situated at about 1,800 m (5,800 ft) above sea level against the beautiful landscapes of the mountain ranges including Mount Rathong, Mount Pandim, Mount Kabru and Mount Sinolchu, the village is an ideal location for visitors in search for an all-round authentic Sikkimese experience.
Ghonday Homestay is a family run property situated on the Upper Borong. With 3 modern rooms the Homestay is about 17 km away from the beautiful town Ravangla. The homestay offers a homely stay for families looking for peace and home cooked meals. Though the homestay has a kitchen offering Bengali and Indian dishes, it is best known for its Sikkemise meals cooked by Mahendra Gurung(owner) who provides the finest hospitality to guests treating them as family members. Rooms are cosy and well maintained.Western style Bathrooms are spacious with geysers providing 24hrs hot and cold water. The homestay has been running for its 9th years offerings its best services and has already gained its name in the field of hospitality and food. About the Area
Borong is well connected by road. To get to Sikkim, the nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri (near Siliguri) railway station, Bagdogra airport & Pakyong airport (Gangtok). Both are well connected to major cities in India including Kolkata, Delhi and Guwahati. The main carriers that goes to Bagdogra are Air India, Jet Airways, Indigo and Spicejet airlines.
Visitors can book for transport services for pick-up/drop-off at their designated locations through the Ghonday Homestay (Additional cost apply).
Other than you can take share/full car from SNT(Siliguri)/NJP (Via Namchi or Ravangla) for BORONG.
Government Buses are also available for Namchi or Ravangla. But it is not frequent. After reaching Namchi or Ravangla you have to take car for Borong.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
