Eranda and his family are the textbook example of good hosts. They are very caring and passionate about their homestay. His mother was almost a mother to me. And the breakfast she makes is delicious! Eranda is very well connected and will know is happening in Colombo. I loved drinking the occasional pint with Eranda, relaxing at the Good Market and watching Sri Lankan soaps with this mother and father (of course with the necessary translations into English). Tricking me into joining a small Baila Baila dance competition was a nice touch as well. At least now I know how to sorta dance the Sri Lankan way :D. The rooms are very clean and very comfortable. You can get a quick bite down the street, but restaurants are a bit further away (10min walk). He doesn't want people to give him 100% review because 'there is always room for improvements'. Well, I am giving 5 hearts nonetheless. Thank you for the fond memories!

Well located with lots of good and cheap, affordable or expensive restaurants nearby. If you search a bit, you will be able to have dinner at a different place every night without walking more than 5 minutes. Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Sri Lankan, Italian (pizza!), Indian and Western (with proper burgers) cuisine are round the corner. Supermarkets are at walking distance and a small beach is close by (2km). Located a bit main road the house (and garden) is quiet. Shanela and Ashan are enthousiastic musicians. I can advise you to bring your instrument and join the occasional jam. I didn't bring mine but enjoyed listening just the same. In the afternoon Shanela teaches piano to children and the house is full of energy. If all becomes too much, the garden offers a pleasant retreat. The garden might need some work though. The grass is starting to take over :D. Shanela and Ashan are hard working people. As a guest you will need show some independance. Yet, despite their busy schedules, Shanela and Ashan are very much involved with their guests. Thank you for the hospitality! I really liked my long stay. I will surely stop by once I am again in Sri Lanka.
