My homestay with Rieko and Kunio was greater than I could have ever imagined. From the moment I arrived at Narima Station the two of them went out of their way to make me feel at home. I was moved by their kindness. We had a lot of interesting discussions about japanese culture as well as my own culture and I learned a lot from them even though my stay was quite short. I miss them already and would love to see them again one day. Maybe even in Vienna at a traditional viennese Ball ;) . My reason to come to Japan was to experience winter time in Tokyo with all ist traditions, improve my japanese skills and take a look at my future University in Tokyo. It was wonderfull and I can fully recommend staying there if you are truly interested in deeply emersing yourself in the culture.
I could not be any more happy with how my stay with Rieko & Kunio turned out! They were fantastic hosts and made my time in Japan so much more enriching. If you have never done a homestay before (like me) and are a bit concerned/don't know what to expect- don't worry! Rieko & Kunio will make you feel right at home. Also, if you are coming to Japan with the intention of studying the language, staying here is a really good idea as they are more than willing to help you practice your everyday speaking and listening skills. I have nothing but positive things to say and can't wait to catch up with Rieko & Kunio when I return to Japan :)
Rieko & Kunio San,
Made my visit feel like a blessing. I went to see my grandfather out in Kyoto during my stay. However, my time with Rieko and Kunio made my worries about my visit and personal life disappear. I will for sure come again. If you ever have the luck to stay at their home you will really enjoy the family atmosphere.
This was my first ever homestay, and I have to say, it was incredible!
Rieko-san and Kunio-san were extremly welcoming and friendly. They picked me up at the train station and guided me to their house. They helped me with a lot of questions I had about Tokyo and what were the best options for some souvenirs I wanted to buy. They even helped me order through japanese websites some of the things I wanted to buy.
Their food is really good and you can relax and talk with them for a lot of time (if they don't have anything to do, because they are really active!)
All in all, was a really good experience and definetly will come back to Japan and stay with them if possible.
Rieko and Kunio-san were so helpful to me and made my trip so much easier. If i was unsure about how anything worked , they would explain it to me. And Rieko's cooking is really good ! I was really well taken care of. Sometimes traveling alone can be confusing. But they made my trip so much easier and fun!
Nerima is also a very cozy and comfortable area!
I hope i can come back again soon , thank you ! :) <3
Thank you so much to Kunio-san and Rieko-san for an unforgettable stay in Tokyo! The location in Nerima is so convenient to go to other places in Tokyo and the the hosts recommended all the good restaurants and shops in the area. Reiko-san and Kunio-san took me to a local onsen, which was such a relaxing and refreshing experience, followed by a sushi dinner. Rieko-san cooked delicious home-made dinners when I was around for dinner and recommended so many good places and events to visit, like the Halloween party in Shibuya. They really made me feel immediately welcome and comfortable in Japan and helped me practice my Japanese as well! I can’t wait to visit again. Thank you!
Rieko and Kunio were very good hosts. they make you feel like family & they are always very helpful and kind. they help me many times when I had trouble. and they are very interested about their guests, they want to learn new things about other cultures. the house very comfortable & clean and is real traditional Japanese house. we went together for an onsen and other time they also dressed me up in a real kimono and we took pictures at a temple. I took dinner at home option twice and Rieko's food is very delicious! she is good cooker. I would recommend staying at their house for any one looking for homestay :)
Rieko and Kunio were wonderful. They were kind, always helpful and were genuinely interested in their guests. They put a lot of effort into making their guests feel extremely welcome, and were a lot of fun to hang out with. I would encourage anyone to stay with them, and if we make our way to Japan I would definitely stay with them again.
I can only recommend them, it was the best decision to stay with them. I enjoyed the stay and talking with them about japan and their culture . If im going again to Tokyo i will go back to Reiko and Kunio.
We absolutely loved our homestay with Rieko and Kunio.
They were fantastic hosts and could not have been more friendly and helpful, we really enjoy chatting with them after dinner.
The house is very clean and tidy with great traditional features.
The location is also very close to lots of restaurants and the train station with easy and quick connections all over Tokyo.
When we visit Tokyo again I will definitely stay here again
