Alice is a really helpful and warm-hearted lady. Already on my first day she assisted me in buying a local simcard and introduced me to the challenging system of M-Pesa (mobile money).
Her son William was also very helpful by installing the Uber App on my phone to help me to move around.
As it was my very first visit to Kenya Alice also introduced me to a really kind young lady who gave me a 2-day-orientation tour of Nairobi by using various local transport. This was a great start for my stay!I would also highly recommend visiting the various projects of Alice,s NGO Safisha Africa (i.e. a school including a small orphanage in a slum area).
Alices house is very close (just 3 min on foot) to a big and well stocked supermarket as well as to local transport.
Thank you so much to Alice as well as to all of her family and other guests for a great week in Nairobi!

From the first mail contact until the hearthy personal welcome in Nairobi it was the best choice! Alice and her adult sons did everything to made the stay perfect!
So if you interested in an really impression of the living in Nairobi far from artificial hotel atmospheres and other typical touristic areas, stay here!!!
The school project they organized all together is amazing!
And if you like to book tours out of Nairobi, for instance a safari, ask, the will organize that perfectly!
You never will deny your stay at Alice open door home!

Alicia is amazing person. You cannot choose better place in Nairobi then her house. She was my mother for one week. She and her sons showed me a city center, tipical Kenyan food, how to prepare Chapati, African hair style, organized Safari for me.. and best of all she gave home full of love. Thank you Alicia. Hope to see you again.

to choose alices Homestay was the best decision i made. I was feeling at home from the beginning. i got to know a lot of astonishing people and the african food they shared with me was excellent.
To everyone who wants a family like environment, loves great food or wants to get to know new people, i would strongly recommend Alice.March 2016
My trip to Kenya was perfect because of Alice's help. I didn't feel any danger and/or inconvenience even though I'd heard that Kenya is a rough country.
She and her sons were very kind, so they led to me everywhere I wanted to go, like an orphanage, museum and slum area. A supermarket is very close to her house. It was really fun to go shopping with her. Her house was clean enough to get settled, and dishes were good. I miss the taste of the spiced tea that she made for me every morning and evening. Also, I love her character of breeziness and charitable instinct. If you want to make your trip to be wonderful and choose Alice for a host family, I think you would not regret.September 2015
I must say that Alice is the best host and mam in Kenya.
I was with her, her sons and other housemates for a month and had amazing experience. It was unfortunate that I could visit a school which Alice runs only once since I was doing internship in the UN. However, all kids are very cheerful and happy and I am sure all the volunteers had great experience with helping her.
She and her 3 sons are all great cooks and took great care of us. I had enjoyed local Kenyan food and experiences with them.
Furthermore, there is a big supermarket in 3min walk from her place and ATM is also available there. You can take a bus with 40-80ksh to get to downtown which takes 30-60min depends on traffic. The neighborhood is pretty safe and really convenient.
I definitely recommend her to people who want to have a lovely Kenyan mam and brothers.January 2015
A lovely 'homely' homestay. Alice and her family are really beautiful people. Alice goes out out of her way to accommodate her guests and is always smiling and warm. She treats guests like her own sons and daughters. Thanks Alice for a lovely time.

Finally I just arrived to my home in India and recollecting my stay at Alice's home can only bring me good memories. Alice is a very kind host who looks after her guests in a caring manner. She came to pick me up at the airport and arranged a good room in her big house in a gated secured plot next to a big shopping mall right in front of the main road that has many buses towards the city centre. Alice and her sons prepared very good food with a taste of Kenya. She took me around the city centre to help me know different spots to take transport to Nanyuki, Mombasa and also to her home. She even gave me her spare sim card on the very first day to use during my 2 weeks stay so I did not have the need to go out to buy one. I had the good opportunity to go to her school for kids of poor single mothers in a slum on Christmas eve to distribute rice, cooking oil and snacks to the kids and their mothers. It was an eye opener to see the life of the people in that area ans also met a local hospital doctor at the hospital where the kids are treated if they are sick. Alice said to me that the money paid to her by the hosts goes towards running the school and the hospital costs for the kids. She arranged a good safari in the Masai Mara with a tour company she had contact with for my new year eve and new year day and it was an amazing experience. I made good friends from other countries in her home too. There was an Australian family who arrived on the same day I arrived so I had the good opportunity to tour Nairobi with them. Two French ladies arrived two days before I left and it was good to know them too. Yesterday she dropped me at the airport with a friendly hug. I hope to return to Kenya for a bigger tour and wish to have a stay in Alice home again :).
