Maria and her family were are all really nice, caring people who took their hosting seriously and really helped make my trip perfect! Maria was extremely friendly and talkative and the entire family took me in as one of them and helped me out with everything I needed help with. Maria took time one day to drive me and walk me around the area in Malta where my Dad grew up, which I couldn't have found on my own, it was really nice to see this and it was very kind of them to do this for me. They made me feel at home in Malta with their kindness, hospitality, friendliness and delicious food! The bedroom is very big with a big balcony where you can sit out and enjoy the sun, it is very well equipped with a fan, electric sockets, a bin, a desk, towel, cupboard and closet spaces, better than the average hotel room. The in which the house is situated has a few convenience shops, pharmacies, it's close to the university and hospital, however if you are going on a tourist visit as I was, it isn't next door to anything super interesting (as far as I realised) and you will probably need to get the bus to go places, however because of it's central location on the island these bus journeys should rarely be that long (as long as the bus arrives and is on time). I could sense a friendly atmosphere in this mainly residential neighbourhood however with people seeming to know each and often chatting. Overall, it was a really amazing stay and was a lot better than what I expected! Honestly, if you want to have a good stay in Malta and feel at home in a family, Maria's family homestay is a great option for you! Thanks a lot to her, her family, her cat and her dogs for making this trip what it was for me!

A great thank you to Maria for her hospitality, kindness, advice for buses to take, places to visit, to have me explain the Malta festivities and traditions. It was a real pleasure to be with Maria and her husband. She is a great host because it is always at our disposal to communicate! The food is good and plentiful. The room is clean. Located in a quiet location. A good price-performance ratio. Its location is ideal because it is near a bus terminal that takes in many cities in Malta. I suggest to spend your stay with this host family that is very great. (Stay in August 2016 - I'm French).

Everything was great. Maria and her husband picked up me and my friend at the airport, she showed us everything important as a bus stop, supermarket, places to visit. We could ask her for help and it was perfect. Our room looked as same as in the foto, everything was clean and OK. If anyone looking for place to stay, Maria and her family is the best choice. Thank you a lot!

If you are looking for the perfect Homestay on Malta - Maria and her family is the place to be.
By picking me up from the airport and showing me the way to my workplace on the next day Maria already convinced me of her lovely and caring personality. Even for my first trip to the beach she prepared me a bus-schedule that gave me all the information I needed to discover the nicest places on Malta to swim at.
The breakfast right before I went to work everyday included a wide range of food for every taste. She even prepared me a lunchbag on a daily schedule with Malta's best tuna-ftira you will ever taste. Whatever you want to eat - Maria prepares it. This even goes for the dinner in the evening. The food was of a brilliant quality and taste! Her husband is also a very good chef when it comes to cooking dinner or having a nice BBQ, which we had on the house's rooftop.
The guestroom is of a good size, so is the balcony. Maria always kept it clean! Besides this, she was doing the laundry on a daily basis. Just perfect! Also the bathroom was of a good size, including a big shower and large drawer to put your bathroom belongings in.
The house is located in a quiet place called Swatar near mater dei Hospital, which is a central spot to pick up busses in every direction. From there you can reach every spot on the island in a very short time, perfect for homestayers who want to travel by bus. Nearby are a lot of shops which are opened 7 days a week - so if you want to buy something spontaneously, you can either ask Maria to buy things for you or you can go by yourself, its just a 2 minutes walk to the next store!
All in all, spending my two month on the island at Maria was simply the best thing that could happen to me. She, her husband and their son are a lovely family to stay with. If I will come back to the island again I will without any doubt stay at Maria again.
So if you are looking for a "feels-like-home" homestay, I can highly recommend Maria.May 2015
