Pravs was a great host, very welcoming in letting me into his home for my 2 nights in Wellington. The room was clean, and I had access to all the amenities in the house.
If you are looking for a clean, quiet place to stay only 20 mins from Wellington CBD with easy access into the city this is definatly a great option for a few nights.

It was not like the picture on the homestay website, the room hadn't been cleaned or vacuumed and didn't have more than one small bulb in a candlarbra type light, very inadequate and unacceptable for the amount of money Pravs was charging. I didn't stay due to the state of the room so wouldn't recommend it to anybody, and I am left wondering how he gets to advertise on the home stay sight?

    Hi Sandra,
Please recall that you had arrived a day earlier than booked! The guest bed linen is always changed when previous guest leaves and so was clean and please remember that it is a part of our home and we definitely live in a vacuumed home and in hygienic conditions so your comment is not acceptable.

Let me remind you that although the check in time is at 10.00 AM, just to suit your convenience, you inconsiderately called me at wee hours to wake me up to ask if it was okay to come a day earlier as you were already in the airport, I was kind enough to accept your request but then you didn't turn up. Subsequent to that you didn't have the decency to inform me that you had gone away to your sister's house without even apologising for the inconvenience you caused me. Later in the afternoon, you called and insisted on coming to the house when I was away on some other work. (You have to understand that this is a homestay and not a motel or a hotel, where a reception is available to accomodate such requests. Check in and Check out times are pre-scheduled to mutual convenience).

Let me also clarify about one bulb in the candelabra, The candelabra were designed to hold three 'incandescent' bulbs but now has been replaced with LED bulbs, The LED bulbs are more bright and a guest like you recommended me to have one bulb fitted due to high lumens of light it emits and it was too bright for the three bulbs.

Well, I am surprised at your comment about the room, the room dimensions have not been changed since the pictures were posted and it has the same windows. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you that I have been hosting guests since 4 - 5 years and have had innumerable guests from various countries through Homestay and Airbnb who have been very satisfied and have complimented their experience.

I earnestly believe that you had a different agenda and did not want to stay here You had also insisted for your deposit refund to my son (minor) probably you didn't realise that the deposit is paid to Homestay.com and not to hosts.

My advice to you is to stay in hotels in future which might suit your taste and not try to stay in inexpensive homestays! I am happy to continue to host genuine and happy guests who appreciate homestays. By the way, I have had two guests who have enjoyed their stay since your visit and continue to have bookings

Prav welcomed me into his home, even though mine was a brief stay, and was always helpful with information and help for getting around Wellington. Enjoyable suburban location. City Centre is less than 20 mins by bus.

How do I book?

Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.

When do I pay?

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.

When can I share my contact details?

Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
