I came to Seoul to take a Korean class and learn more about Korea. I was glad to stay with Heayoung in Buam Dong. It gave me the chance to get to know much more about life in Korea, its history and the Korean language. Haeyoung is very friendly and writes Korean language books. She told me a lot about the language, took me hiking and introduced me to her friends. Thank you!

Haeyoung is a kind, understanding and supporting host. She always told me to ask her anything, helped me with train/ferry tickets and bookings and recommended me many wonderful places near her house. Haeyoung’s house is located in a beautiful area in Seoul - surrounded by valleys, parks and mountains but still close to the beating city and it’s many attractions. Listening to Haeyoung speak about the Korean language and her work (making educational content for Korean) was always inspiring and I am very grateful, I could practice speaking Korean with her. I was also welcomed to eat with her - she made sure to cook food I can eat (I am not eating meat) and even asked me what kind of food I like, to prepare some of it… I am a very calm and with new people shy person, talking little and needing lots of time for myself - Haeyoung respected me and my needs but invited me again and again to open up more and more. Thank you very much for everything.
