I am a designer and manufacturer of lingerie. I have three young kids in primary school. I am always at the house until 1pm but for all guests coming in after that, my full-time cook and caretaker Archie will welcome you.
I will serve my guests with a light breakfast of eggs, chicken sausages, toast, jam, butter, yogurt and fruit.
The house is located 5km from Colombo city center. It is also near a temple and school. The railway line is quite close and unfortunately the noise of the train can be heard in one of the bedrooms during the morning office rush hour.
There are restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance. Also, you can reach the city center quite easily by tuk tuk.

About the Area
Our house is located in a safe neighborhood. A 15 minute walk will take you to Nugegoda shopping district as well the Nugegoda bus terminal and train station.
A short drive will get you to the Colombo city center. It is about 35km from the airport.

Meals
Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
Pets are not allowed in the house as there is not much garden space for them.
Check-in time is 1.30pm.
If you are arriving very late, please let us know in advance so that we make arrangements to welcome you.
Check-out time is 11.30am.
Wifi is only available in living room, however you make take the router to your room if no one else is using it.
We expect all outside guests to leave the house by 10pm.
Please turn off the hot water switch after use to conserve electricity.
You will be given a house key - please keep it safe. If lost, I will need to be reimbursed for the cost - Rs.700.00 per lost key.
Tea and Coffee are complimentary at any time. You may use the kitchen to make it yourself or ask my cook, Archie to make it for you. He will be happy to oblige.
We are non-smokers and appreciate if you did not smoke inside the house. But smoking outside is ok.
We expect noise-level to be kept low in consideration to our neighbors.
We need a copy of your passport upon check-in.
Payment to be in cash only either in US$ or local currency equivalent.

Varuni and her caretaker were very hospitable but I am afraid I had not factored the following while booking my stay at her place:
1. The washroom was not attached to the room hence it was a bit bothersome going out of the room and walking to it.
2. There was no Air conditioner in the room and I tossed and turned in the March heat most of the night.
3. The mattress was very very soft. I almost sank into it. Sleeping was difficult.
However Varuni was more than helpful and even exchanged my dollars. Thanks for that little help from her on a Sunday. The breakfast too was wholesome and nice. The house is not very far from the central hub of Colombo, Fort Railway Station. And last but not the least, hers is a very tastefully done up house and is aesthetically very nice and is also very very clean.Hope this honest review helps.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
