Fun, friendly, family atmosphere

Accueil chaleureux, pleine d'attentions pour nous (couple + deux enfants étudiants) pendant tout le séjour (du mercredi 2 août au soir au lundi matin 7 août 2017). Bien logés dans une chambre pour quatre pleine de charme dans une très jolie maison donnant sur le jardin. Bon petit déjeuner. Catherine était toujours disponible pour nous aider si besoin. Plaisir de discuter, d'échanger avec Catherine et son fils.
Boston accessible facilement depuis Braintree en transports en commun.
Un très beau souvenir pour commencer notre voyage.

Back from our three weeks round trip in the US, I would like to give a short review of Cathrines Homestay in Baintree. We arrived late in the evening after an intercontinental flight. Cathrine gave us a warm welcome and told us about problems. We are a family with two adults and two kids and had booked two double rooms. One of this double rooms Cathrine had already given to four chinese girles, which had arrived unexpected. She had put another bed in the other double-room and an additional mattress, so we had to sleep with four persons in an already small double- room. She offered us to go out of her own bedroom, so that we could stay there, but it would take an hour to clean it for us. It was already late at night and the kids were very tired from the flight. So we stayed with four persons in the small room. Next surprise, the bedclothes of beds were used and smelled bad. Also the towels were not washed. The kids went to bed first, then we went to the bathroom, which was really dirty. A girl kept me back and wanted to go in our room, where the kids already slept, because Cathrine had put her stuff out of the room, when she was out during the day and there were still someting from her in our room. She was very annoyed about this behaviour of the host. At the next morning we decided not to stay another night, as we had booked, we left Cathrines Homestay and went into a Motel. That was the awfullest expirience I have ever made in a homestay. The house was totally overcrowded with guests, dirty and scruffy. In Europe no refugge home could be kept like this.
In addition to that situation, Cathrine has several cats, which is not described in the homepage. Our daughter has an allergy against the hair of cats and could hardly breath the whole night.

Catherine is such a wonderful host. Warm, welcoming and very friendly. She helped us with everything. Cooked for us, wonderful Swordfish. She helped us with our laundry. She is very social and likes to be around her guests. We felt at home right away. She showed us how to get back and forth from the subway. The most important of all is that we forgot our computer with all our picture on it. We noticed it first when we came to Syracuse. She helped us to get the computer back in one day by using "one day delivery" With UPS. We can not thank you enough for doing that for us.
