About the Homestay
The house is easily accessed from the Esplanade Ave exit of Interstate 10 highway. This is a 2 story house; I am in the downstairs apartment.
The French Quarter is 11 blocks away. The Esplanade bus goes to Canal Street and the Canal Streetcar( trolley) which takes guests to the other end of the French Quarter, the Mississippi River, Convention Center, Central Business District. Taking the bus in the opposite direction is the City Park, Museum of Art, Sculpture Garden, Botanical Garden and Cemeteries. Being close to the Interstate makes all New Orleans neighborhoods about a 10 minute ride away. The LSU Medical School, Hospital & Research Center as well as the VA Medical Complex is 9 blocks away. Tulane Medical School is an additional 5 blocks away on Tulane Ave.

A very hospitable host. Very clean room, within walking distance of the French Quarter
Louise is a wonderful and friendly host who will help you get to any place in the city if you're unsure of how to get there as well as give you great tips on places to go. Her home is located in an area that makes it very inexpensive to use lyft or uber to get anywhere. I'd definitely stay with her again!
I had a great stay at Louise’s home! Louise is a wonderful host, always helpful and willing to accomodate whatever need you have! I immediately felt it was my own home! The room is beautiful and the bed was extra comfortable. Fresh fruits were also available, which was awesome! And you also get to have amazing conversations with Louise who is so positive and so fun to be around! I’ll go back to her place next time i go to new orleans !!
Louise was a wonderful host! She went above and beyond to make our stay the best it could be. I would 100% stay with her again!
Had a wonderful experience staying at Louise, her location is close to the French quarter and she is a lovely host.
This was my first time using homestay, and Louise made me feel welcomed in her home. I did not feel like a stranger, but a true friend/guest. I would recommend homestay over the other guys any day! I believe my stay advertised private bathroom, but it was a shared bathroom in the hallway. However, it was clean and the price was very reasonable. I was out of the room most of the time, so my accommodations were no issue at all. This place is only about a 15 minute walk from Bourbon Street, but I would NOT recommend walking alone late at night in this area. Just Lyft or Uber instead. With that said, I did feel safe for my entire stay, and my stay in NOLA was a positive one. If you are ever in the Big Easy, be sure to look up Louise, she was the definition of true southern hospitality!
Tip: Park on the grass between the sidewalk and street if you plan to drive here and the host is not available for check in when you arrive. Be sure to notify your host of what vehicle you're driving.
Pros: Convenience to French Quarter & interstate, Host, room, price.
Cons: Neighborhood could be sketchy at night, so don't walk alone during this time, or just take a Lyft or Uber instead. Use common sense: don't leave valuables exposed in vehicle, and lock doors to both the residence and your vehicle!

Louise is a very welcoming host who collected me at the airport which was much appreciated after a long transatlantic flight. The Treme is a quiet neighbourhood 15mins walking distance to the French Quarter & on a no 91 bus route. Also about 20 mins walk to Frenchmans Street for the live jazz and café quarter. Would definitely recommend staying with Louise if you are visiting New Orleans.
