We live in the desirable and very safe Maximo Moorings neighborhood in south St. Petersburg that is just off I-275 interstate for immediate city-wide access, 15 minutes to the beaches, 15 minutes from downtown St. Pete, 10 minutes to the Grand Central district, and 15 minutes across the Skyway Bridge. The grocery store, restaurants, shopping and bus lines are in walking distance.
Available are your own furnished room and bath. The house is very spacious with a large, open kitchen and an enclosed, private back yard with a grill. This accommodation is in a private home, so there is no private entrance (all enter the front door of the house) and we are around and home while you are staying here. I am a hardworking, drama-free, professional who is fun and outgoing, tidy, friendly, helpful, and respectful. I have a long history of travel and cross cultural experiences, as well as foreign languages and English speaking practice.
Welcome are mature tenants who enjoy the area and that are respectful of people’s homes and neighbors. Smoking of any kind anywhere, drugs, and alcohol abuse cannot be accommodated. Additional comments are available under the "rules" section of the listing.

About the Area
The neighborhood is quiet and friendly, and shopping and restaurants are only a few minutes walk away, as are the nearest bus stops. All about 15 minutes away are the beach, Clam Bayou and Ft. DeSoto for kayaking, and the popular Central Ave and downtown. A couple of minutes to the Skyway bridge and you can access enjoyable points further south, such as Sarasota, nearby parks and preserves, their beaches, and Ellenton Outlet Mall for discount shopping.

House Rules
House amenities:
Guests are welcome to use common areas, such as the kitchen and patio, and need to be attentive to cleaning up after themselves. We practice recycling as well as composting. We do not have cable tv or pay-online streaming services, and our internet is not lightning fast for pay-online streaming. Our guests do spend time watching videos online (either with their hotspot or for some services that don't need fast internet), but also sightseeing, playing games, and practicing English with us. In the house is a low maintenance cat (that is not normally allowed in the guest rooms), who is usually friendly (but can be leery of new people).
The bedrooms:
The two guest rooms (one with a double bed and the other with a twin bed) share one bath. Both rooms are not usually occupied by visitors, so it is exclusive to the guest if one room is rented; however, should both rooms be occupied (a most rare event), then the bathroom would be shared by those staying in both guest rooms.
The single guest room has just been converted and set up, so we don't have photos of it yet. It has very nice furniture as a desk and shelves, with a new box spring and mattress. It is certainly comfortable, clean, and accommodating for one person. The twin bed is too small to really be comfortable for two people.
Payment and ID upon arrival:
Upon arrival you will need to present legal identification to register your check-in and complete payment. The preferred payment is cash, though an e-payment option can be discussed here via email in advance of arrival.
Other information:
No unregistered guests or pets are allowed. All food is to be enjoyed in the dining room or on the patio or porch (not in the bedroom). Please make sure to turn off the lights and any electronics when you leave the house. There is a shoes rack at the front door, so please take your shoes off from there (or leave them outside of your room door). Please be sure to report any damages and/or broken items in a reasonably timely manner (such as on the first day).
No smoking is permitted anywhere on the property (including anywhere outside). The house is open and outside smoke is readily entrained inside. This is very important, so anyone who does smoke anywhere on the property understands that they will have to leave right away and forgo the accommodation without refund. This rule has to be strictly enforced.
It is usual that I am contacted inquiring if my room is available, and nearly every single person never responds to my reply. If you do make contact with any host but decide you will not take the accommodation, it is very helpful and courteous to send even the briefest reply that you have decided against staying. Thanks so much.

Jeannine and her furry friends provided an extremely welcoming home during my stay. You'll have your own side of the house for quiet time and most of the rest of the house for meals and relaxing on the patio. And if you're nice, Jeannine may even make you a delicious omelet!
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
