I really appreciated Simon’s kindness and flexibility because before I booked I was unsure of which days I was coming and Simon was flexible and patient with my vacillations. On arrival, my transport was delayed and Simon arranged for a neighbour to let me in and he left teabags on the kitchen table so I could relax with a cuppa. The house is clean and fresh. The bedroom is light and airy and relatively big for a single. I appreciated the touch of a proper wardrobe unit. Simon was happy for me to use the washing machine and cook my own meals and he provides breakfast cereal etc if you want it too. If you’re staying a month you get a shelf in the fridge. He has two beautiful kids and I enjoyed talking to Simon’s teenage daughter about her art. This is a welcoming, relaxed and yet orderly place to stay that’s a bus ride from the centre.
I enjoyed my week at Sue and Murat's house - Sue who manages the homestay was very welcoming. When I was having problems finding the right street she came out to find me and brought me back. Little touches like leaving the towels and slip of paper saying "Welcome Kath" on the bed were nice. The large bedroom had crisp clean sheets, was warm, clean and freshly decorated with an openable window. Downstairs there is a menagerie, that includes two poodle / poodle mix dogs – Bonnie and Rupert - who are very affectionate, two cats, and in the sun lounge is a guinea pig. The house is kept clean and feels safe and welcoming. I was given my own shelf in the fridge and some cupboard space to cook for myself. It was nice to spend time with a happy connected couple and hear about their caravanning adventures. 20 -25 mins walk to MediaCityUK
