Toll, gerne wieder.
We enjoyed our stay with Julie. She's very welcoming and had great tips on local activities etc... The room was comfortable and we also enjoyed the relaxing outside deck & the friendly cats :)
Nice place, we stayed in The Granny flat, with private shower.
Julie was very helpful and pickedus up fr.o.m. The AirPort . One day When she was free fr.o.m. Work she took us to Port Cove! She also took us to a Trivia quiz at The Salt house in the harbour with her friends. We could use her laundry and she gave us a hint about a free concert at The Casino. I Will recommend Julie for people visiting Cairns.
Julie is an excellent host. This was our first experience with homestay and she really made the effort to make our stay unforgettable. It was nice that she had more people staying. The room was nice with a ceiling fan keeping us cool and comfortable beds. We loved being woken up by the birds every morning. The typical Queenslander house is lovely with a nice breezy veranda to enjoy meals or a cup of tea while meeting others. Julie gave tips with places to visit and was very willing to take us to places. After staying in busy and noisy hostels this was a nice break where we could really feel at home.
Great place to stay. Julie is a lovely kind person who is always happy to help. Great location, Not too far of a walk to Cairns shopping centre.
I have been in Julie's house for 1 week. It was so nice.
My bedroom was next to the bathroom so very good!
In Julie's house is near to the city, supermarket and the lagon (15-20mn by walk), really cool!
Julie is verry nice person. I'm so glad to know a really nice person as her.
I have been with her in a beach, market, restaurants, coffee.. it was nice.
On my recent trip to Cairns I had the pleasure of staying at Julie's place. For 24 days I got to stay in a lovely house about 10 min walk from cairns central, this place was absolutely perfect.
The house has a number of different rooms but I got the best one :), the downstairs self contained room..... It was HUGE, it had every thing that I needed and more hot plate microwave toaster, laundry etc (it had a spa bath too!!) Julie was even nice enough to have cereal, juice, bread, milk and other condiments in the fridge. Plus there were a couple of cats which wander around, it really felt like my home It was a nice surprise!
Julie was absolutely wonderful, very friendly and generous. I was invited to some local events but unfortunately I wasn't able to attend due to personal commitments but it was very kind to be asked. There are rules so please remember this is someone's house so be respectful and you will be treated the same.
From the first day to the last it was very enjoyable, it was quiet convenient clean and comfortable I really couldn't have asked for more.
If you are heading to cairns I recommend this place highly (I hope there is space next time I'm up lol). While at Julies there were a few people came and went but all were respectful and quiet, being a professional 36yo this place was ideal no parties not loud music just nice and homely.
When I am back in cairns I will be sure to stay here again!
We enjoyed staying at Julie's place. The room in the garden is great, as it has a small veranda you have to yourself, good wifi, a desk and comfortable bed! Julie was also a good host! There are a few other guests in her house, mostly students and it's a good atmosphere!
As a relatively new comer to 'Homestay' and my hosts it is and will always be difficult to arrive at your 'new' home and meet your host no matter where you go along life's journey. I arrived at Julies home in Cairns a wee bit later than planned (I got lost on the way!) but Julie was their to meet and greet me when I arrived whereupon (she) showed me to my accommodation for what was to be my home for almost the next week.
My accommodation was 'exactly' what I was looking for.
> Somewhere comfortable , clean and all that I would have asked for.
> the accommodation was more than I expected and for the time that I was with Julie at her home I felt safe and secure.
My 'neighbour' was a nice young man from Brazil (I think) and he too was quite and respectful.
Julie respected an individuals privacy and once introductory protocols were complete I was left to myself but knowing that I was able to speak with Julie if need be. This aspect of being a guest, too was appreciated by me.
Julie, was indeed a professional 'Homestay' host and I would recommend making contact with Julie on a proposed trip to Cairns.
