Jaboticatubas is a municipality in the metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais, state whose name derives from the mines that were installed there to explore the subsoil, rich in precious stones, semiprecious stones and iron ore. The tourism industry also has fertile ground in the state, highlighting at least three important roadmaps:
• mines and caves and waterfalls: the grotto of Maquiné (Cordisburgo); The Passage (Mariana) mine and the Lapinha grotto (Lagoa Santa); Waterfall Véu da Noiva (Jaboticatubas);
• mineral water springs: Caxambú, São Lourenço, Araxá, Cambuquira, among others;
• historical and religious: the three state capitals (Mariana, Ouro Preto and Belo Horizonte); Road (São João del Rei, Tiradentes, Ouro Preto and Diamantina).
In the agro-tourism route we have in Jaboticatubas the Kantim dos Tofa's, a rural property used by the hosts as a residence on weekends and holidays, for leisure, recreation and contemplation and which, directly, provides the support of two families of rural workers, The micro production of tropical fruit (bananas) to supply the local population and even Belo Horizonte. It also has an orchard with typical fruits of the region, whose biome is called Cerrado. All fruits are organic, because in no activity on the property, chemical fertilizers, agrochemicals and / or agricultural pesticides are used.
The facilities for overnight stay, in a simple and rustic but clean rural house, comprise three bedrooms, one suite, which is cleaned by a day laborer who lives near the property. As it does not therefore have full-time service providers, guests are invited to contribute to its conservation, especially by washing the containers, cutlery and glasses used by them.

About the Area
Located about 60 km from Belo Horizonte and the airport of Confins, Kantim dos Tofa's (trustee: Marcus Tofanelli - see photo), with a total area of about a bush (45 thousand m2) is in the Km 4 of the highway that connects The seat of the municipality of Jaboticatubas to its district named São José de Almeida.
Due to the distance and so that there are no setbacks for the arrival at the place and return of the guests to their next destination, the transport of them will be made by the host, for a fee to be previously contracted.
It is an opportunity to experience experience in a small rural property, in a small municipality near a large Brazilian urban center. The experience is programmed for up to four guests and exclusively on weekends (from Thursday to Saturday or Sunday), when the hosts will be present to receive them, to carry out activities related to the banana farming project and to enjoy the environment and facilities , Which has televisions and internet. The program includes:
• Thursday: overnight stay;
• Friday: guided tour (with optional interpreter, but recommended for those who do not understand Portuguese, for the English language - consult when booking) to banana plantation project (photo1), in which, in a first step, guests can follow everything The process of disposing of the small production of bananas, including harvesting, descending, washing, packaging, loading and delivery. And, in a second stage, going through the project area to the water course used for irrigation, to know the history and operation of the project from the planting to the stage in which it is. Overnight stay;
• Saturday: In the morning, as a complement to the guided visit to the banana plantation project, loading steps (photo 3) and delivery, on which occasion, being the day of the event (currently occurring on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month) Also the Agroecological Fair Raizes do Campo. In the afternoon, guided visit to the orchard (photo 4) and possible tasting of seasonal fruits. • Sunday: return to Belo Horizonte.

House Rules
As the property is located in a rural area, with relative distance from the few restaurants in the city, guests will be provided with the same meals as the hosts, and even prepared meals accompanied by a drink (juice). The property has drinking fountains where guests can indulge themselves with water. Guests are also encouraged to exercise their culinary skills by preparing the food to be served, as long as they give the owners beforehand the list of ingredients. Guests who have food restrictions must inform the hosts beforehand that they will work to ensure that they are observed.
As it deals with property in a family condominium, it has a Convention of Condominium and Internal Regiment, whose rules of coexistence must be known and respected by the guests.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
