House Rules

SAFETY: NEVER open the door to strangers. Check with us before you let someone you know enter our home.
FOOTWEAR: shoes must be taken off when you enter the house, and you can keep your slippers at the entrance utility closet. Please, do not use outside shoes inside our home.
YOUR BEDROOM: please keep your room tidy an in order. NO FOOD or DRINKS are allowed at anytime in the bedrooms. You can bring water in a safe container, like a water bottle. Once a week, you will be expected to vacuum/broom and mop your room.
LAUNDRY DAY, SHEETS AND TOWELS: Every Saturday, is the laundry day. You are expected to launder your bed sheets and towels atleast once every two weeks.
SHOWERS / BATHS/WASHROOM Please, leave the washroom clean when you are done shower, or you have used the bathroom. Remove all hair and leftover soap, if necessary, off the floor, counters, and bathtub. Please leave the bathtub clean and rinsed. Please limit your time in the shower to 10 minutes and make sure you leave the exhaust turned on to “air” the bathroom after you are done. We provide hand soap, toilet paper, towels, and face cloth for you to use. All other toiletries and hairdryer, if needed, are your responsibility.
Please leave the door open when you are finished in the bathroom.
KITCHEN: please clear away any of the dishes that you use (rinse and place in dishwasher) and clean up after yourself in the kitchen. You can help us with food preparation if you like. We like having a meal with you, possibly dinner during the week. Please be home on time, around 7pm every day. If you need more time, please check with us before you are late. Please do not use the stove when we are not home.
If you want something from fridge or pantry, please ask us before you take it.
SMOKING: this is a NO SMOKING HOME.
ALCOHOL: no alcohol is to be drunk in our house.
PORK: We do not bring or allow pork in our house.
PROBLEMS OR CONCERNS: please talk to us if you have any problems or concern. We will do the same if needed.
We want you to have a pleasant experience with us. Please respect our requests and our belongings. Use “please and thank you “when you ask for something and use our belongings with care.

How do I book?

Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.

When do I pay?

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.

When can I share my contact details?

Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
