Overlooking the mighty St. Lawrence River, with 1/4 acre of butterfly gardens, 27 Roses is a soothing retreat. Choice of 3 bedrooms (shared bath & breakfast room).
The Space
27 Roses Bed and Breakfast overlooks the mighty St. Lawrence River and provides guests with scenic views of the river and the ships, large and small that traverse it. Cyclists and walkers will enjoy the local trails and paths. We are a block from a lovely park, also overlooking the river, and areas to launch your kayak or canoe. The front yard has been converted to a certified Monarch Way Station, filled with beautiful butterfly friendly nectar plants. Butterflies and hummingbirds are frequent inhabitants, delighting visitors.
Guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast, in the four season breakfast room. Specialty breakfasts are available for in-room service, or may be served on the deck or in the garden, weather permitting.
Light meal service is also available, including take-away picnic lunches, 'tea-in-the-afternoon', and after theatre snacks.
We are minutes from local attractions such as Upper Canada Village, Upper Canada Playhouse, the Iroquois Locks, several golf courses, municipal dock and boat launch facilities.
About an hour's drive from the nation's capital, Ottawa, we provide a quiet get away after your busy sight-seeing day.
The second floor of our home has been converted into the bed and breakfast area. There are three bedrooms available, with a shared bath. Complimentary breakfast is available in the four-season breakfast, also on the second floor.
The largest room, The Captain's Quarters, overlooks the front gardens and the river. With double terrace doors, guests enjoy the sights, sounds and scents of our rural surroundings. Sunsets over the river are spectacular!
The Captain's Quarters include a queen bed, seating and private dining areas. Watch the ships sail by, as you relax AND smell the roses!
The Lodge room is a quiet room, at the back of the house, and provides a rustic retreat. It includes a double bed, sofa and private dining table.
The Mate's Room is cozy but luxurious, with a queen size bed.
Guest Access
Guests will have access to:
- their private bedroom accommodations
- the breakfast room (continental breakfast available from 7am-10am - flexible arrangements may be personally arranged) available for relaxing with others, and enjoying snacks throughout the day and evening
- private B and B only entrance
- deck and patio area, with table and chairs for relaxing (meal service available $)
- 1/4 acre butterfly habitat gardens. 27 Roses is a certified Monarch Way Station providing host and nectar plants for Monarchs and a wide variety of butterflies, birds and bees. If you like, we will be happy to share our passion for gardening and Monarchs, with you!
We will be happy to share travel, ship watching and gardening tips with guests, on request. If you prefer a quiet get away, the gardens will be your private oasis. Complimentary breakfast is included with your stay and available in the breakfast room. Private premium in-room, or on-deck meal service is available ($).
We share our home with two dogs and cats. However they have no access to the bed and breakfast area, at any time.

27 Roses is situated in a quiet hamlet, well suited to cycling, walking, jogging etc. We are about an hour's drive from the MacDonald Cartier airport, and 40 minutes from VIA train service in Brockville or Cornwall. MegaBus stops in Brockville.
