Elizabeth and Emile are nice persons, and I had a good experience in their home. Nevertheless, something I didn't like, is that I often found outdated food in the fridge, and in my plate (pizza of 10 days-years-old or more, which I threw away). For instance, toasted bread was in the fridge athough it wasn't good anymore since one month (seeing at the expiration date) !
For the ambience, I put 2/5 because when I arrived, exhausted by 7 hours of plane my parents called me at Emile and Elizabeth's home because they wanted to have news, Emile told them that I "have" to take a cellular phone, that I "can't" receive phone call on the home phone anymore... I was so disappointed of this kind of behaviour, because nothing is more normal that parents who are worried because their daughter are in a foreign continent ! Besides, you "don't have the right" to have you mobile phone when you're eating. I want to add that I'm a girl, and they didn't tell me that they were already having 4 boys students in their house, I found it really disturbing (sharing the bathroom etc) !
For the tidiness, I put 3/5 because the home was tidy, but in the description it's written "regular cleaning room", and one month later my room wasn't tidied/cleaned anymore and my dustbin wasn't emptied anymore.
For the location, I put 2/5 because in the description it's written "the next point to public transport is at 20 m", it's not at all.
Finally, I put 2/5 for "value for money" because I think for 900$ per month, and being vegetarian (meat is quite expensive so they saved money ?), I think I could be at least able to take shower more than 10 minuts long (you don't have the right to take showers more than 10 minuts long, and 1 per day), and have fresh food every morning/evening !
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile.
