Hello! My name is Caitlin and I am offering a warm homestay in native English setting. I am a Student at Carleton University in my Final year and an experienced English teacher. We are currently two Students (age 25) hoping to share our home with lovely Enchange students. ( I lived abroad last year and know the value of finding a good home and community when in a new city) We both love meeting people and sharing cooking, and adventuring. It is great to have guests who are interested in a cultural exchange! :)
We have two rooms for Summer subletting available for the May, or from September until May. We are located in the Beautiful Old Ottawa South! (Furnished or unfurnished) Dates of stay are flexible, but the longer the better ofcourse.
Beautifully bright bed room available in Old Ottawa South neighborhood. The room is the largest in the house, with east sun exposure throughout the day. There is a bathroom down the hall that would be shared by two of the other tenants (3rd year university students), a large common space consists of: a sizable living/dining room, finished basement, good sized kitchen, and laundry facilities.
The second room available from May 1st is fully furnished. It is a smaller, but cozy student room.
Our home is situated minutes away from both the canal and the river. Within walking distance from the quaint restaurants, pubs, coffee shops of bank street and a block away from Brewer Park; the neighborhood is very walkable, and alive throughout the year. We also have an extra bike you may use to cruise around town. The house includes a large common space (large living room, dining room and large kitchen with all amenities), 2 bathrooms, full laundry facilities in basement and rocking porch! We are looking to rent either our largest room in the house, (the green room), and our smaller furnished room until the end of the summer.
Ten minute walk from Carleton University, easy accessibility to down town area, walking distance to shops on bank st. and easy access to public transit. The neighborhood has a great vibe as it is filled with young families, young professionals, and University students.

About the Area
Our House is located in the beautiful Old Ottawa south area. It is a peaceful and family oriented neighbourhood. Our home is situated minutes away from both the canal and the river. Within walking distance from the quaint restaurants, pubs, coffee shops of bank street and a block away from Brewer Park; the neighborhood is very walkable, and alive throughout the year.
In the summer until october there is a local market, with fresh produce. The location offers easy access downtonw with 4 bus lines and if you bike is only 20 minutes.

Meals
Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
You are welcome to use the entire house, and make it like your own. We do not like smoking inside the premises, but you are welcome to use the porch. We want your stay to feel like you are at home, but respect for the common spaces: kitchen and living room is a must. Since we are students we request noise be kept to a minimum after 11 and that you ask permission before friends come over. Cleaning your own dishes, and making sure the common rooms are kept clean is a responsibility for everyone in the house. A kind and respectful atmosphere is all we are asking in terms of house rules.

Your host is a non-smoker.
Smoking is allowed outdoors only.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
