AAA private FRIDGE/STOVE BURNER/MICROWAVE/TV&DVD+KING SIZE BED provided in private room shared bathroom. The house is located 8 minutes away from Fairview Shopping Mall. The central bus terminus for the West Island is located at the Fairview Mall. It takes less than an hour usually to get from here to Downtown Montreal by bus and metro. Also located close to shopping, groceries, banks, movie theatres, libraries, olympic size public swimming pool, indoor public skating arena, dry cleaners, basically all amenities and outlet stores a family may want.

About the Area
Our home is 5 minutes away from the hub of the West Island which is Fairview Mall. There are busses from Fairview Mall to the metro stations, to the Hospital, to John Abbott Cegep and all connected well. There is a very large park at the end of the street, great for children. The highway is very close also very quick access to that.

House Rules
The hostess will gladly help you to give you a drive to the Grocery store nearby so you can buy groceries...this service of driving and showing you the store is only for a 5$ fee including an hour of her time to help you. Pets welcome. If you would like your sheets changed by hostess once per week there is an additional 5$ charge per week. You are expected to keep the shared bathroom neat and clean at all times, this means brushing the toilet, etc... You are expected to keep the shared kitchen facility clean at all times. There is plenty of space in the shared fridge and shared freezer for you to place food for up to a week. If any other guests besides yourself are not neat and clean, please let the hostess know and she will speak with anyone who is not neat and clean. We all like a clean place, no one likes to clean, but the hostess does not want to do it either for everyone and if the hostess has to do it, the price per night will have to be increased.

I really enjoyed this 1 night at Karen s place. She was very helpful, picked me up at the bus station and explained me everything about the room and the house , very good , and I only paid 17 $ ! I watched DVD, and had a big room for myself. I just can recommend this place, thank you very much Karen ! All the best for you ! lovely greetings andre :)

Increíble lugar, muy buena persona, me encantó. Volvería a hospedarme.
Lo único malo es que está lejos del centro de Montreal y que Karen tuvo dificultades cuando llegue tarde del aeropuerto. También, que varias cosas las cobra extra, que al final es más dinero.

Pour le tarif offert, il n'y a aucune critique a apporter. Tout est fait pour que vous soyez autonome dans un quartier calme a 60mns du centre de Montreal avec la station Fairview a 15 mns a pied.

This place was awful. I do not recommend this place. She is in the wrong business considering her hostilitiy towards people and the way she treats them.

This guest was sick with a cold when she arrived at my home. She decided to stay a second day after the first day, but she did not want to book it through Homestay. Rather, Marla paid me cash for the second day. Then Marla told me she was going with a friend to St. Sauveur for Thursday night and would return Friday evening at 6:30pm. On Friday afternoon, Marla called me to say she changed her plans and would be at my place "tomorrow". Then the next day Marla contacted me to say she would be at my place on Sunday around 3pm. I told Marla that the check in time would be around 5pm. Marla was okay with that. Then I told Marla that this was the last time I would accept a change in reservation... (these reservations were all outside of Homestay). Then I told Marla that if she wanted to change her reservation again, she would have to find another home to stay at. Marla had indicated she would be staying in the Montreal area for the month of March and part of April. She had mentioned she wanted to stay at her friends house. Marla does not own a computer, so I am not sure how she is coping. I wish her well. Marla is welcome to come back to my place if she wants to mend this bridge between us that has broken. I apologize for what Marla considers hostility. To me, I was just a little confused by all the changes in reservation. I wish I could have expressed this in better communication.

Karen is very kind and the stay in her house was lovely and comfortable. We spend one week there and we had a nice room with bathroom. The town is a bit far from Montreal (it takes 1 hour to get to the center) but there is a perfect connection by bus to go everywhere you want.

The host is a charming lady and the rate per night is unbelievably low. However, the place is not suitable for people who have issues with pets as their scents are everywhere including in the room itself. There is a closet which is full of clutter including furniture which prevents hanging clothes straight.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
