In this homestay, you don't just get a room... you will virtually have the whole apartment all to yourself! I will check in with you when you will be here and when you will be out, and will go elsewhere to leave you your space when you are in. I live in a 650-square-foot apartment in a beautiful and exciting area of Vancouver called "Mount Pleasant".
I am on the ground floor, south facing, looking into the most beautiful garden -- I call it the Garden of Eden. My place is quiet and super bright, and inside it's like a silent retreat. There is a huge, shared back lawn at the back of my building, with tall trees providing cooling shade.
When you go out the front doors of the building, however, you are one block from a hustling, bustling bee hive of fun activity. One block west and south is a huge, vibrant park which takes up several city blocks. One block east is Main Street with dozens of delicious, character restaurants and cafes to choose from. There is a Save-on-Foods grocery store, post office and dollar store in a mini-mall on the north-west corner of Main Street, also one block away. This is the hub of Vancouver, where you are 10 to 20 minutes from downtown, Kitsilano, Commercial Drive --all the happening areas -- and right in this happening area, "Mount Pleasant", a beautiful walking neighbourhood full of gorgeous, character homes.
I am a certified English and French teacher, currently teaching on-line, and a yoga teacher (currently not teaching). We are intelligent and warm, and enjoy travelling, camping, healthy eating, keeping in shape, and enjoying life with friends and family. There is street parking on the street (14th Avenue near Main, or Quebec Street).
The place is tastefully decorated with live-wood furniture, and a modern white couch, which can convert into another queen-sized bed to sleep two additional people. There is a shared fridge in the kitchen and in the bedroom. There is a patio which greets the morning sun and a plethora of birds.
I require a minimum of two days. No smoking or pets, though I do have a cat and will ask you to feed her in the morning if I am not home in the apartment myself. Guests must be quiet and respectful of my neighbours, no loud partying. It is a very quiet building. Cash payment is due on arrival.

About the Area
Our apartment is located in the centre of Vancouver, one block from Main Street. It is a walking and biking neighbourhood, with parks, basketball courts, picnic areas, playgrounds, restaurants, shops, grocery stores and cafes. We are in the hub of Vancouver, 10 to 15 minutes from all the best areas, and also IN a great area. It has both peace/nature, and busy, cosmopolitan life. The #3 bus goes up and down Main Street, and Cambie Street with the "Canada Line" which goes downtown or to Richmond, and also from the airport, is a ten-minute walk away.

House Rules
No smoking, drinking, drugs or pets. Quiet time from 11 pm to 7 am. Limited fridge space, but there is an additional fridge in the bedroom. Lock all doors when leaving. Keep areas clean, as you would your own home. No visitors without the host's consent. Quiet entry and exit. Welcome to use the TV and to relax on the patio. Please leave key on the kitchen counter when leaving, and arrive at pre-arranged check-in time.

L'appartement de Tanya est très agréable, nous nous sommes sentis à la maison. Il est très bien situé, dans un quartier calme et agréable et plutôt proche de tout. Le jardin est un petit coin super agréable, le petit coin de paradis comme indiqué dans l'annonce :-)
Tanya est très sympathique et arrangeante et le chat très câlin. Je recommande sans hésiter !

Superbe séjour chez Tanya. L'appartement est idéalement situé et bien agencé. Nous nous y sommes sentis comme à la maison. Tanya est une super hôte qui nous a reçu comme des rois. I had a great time at Tanyas place! From hanging out with her an her cat to having a Wonderful Christmas dinner with her and her Family. She was very welcoming and nice and did everything to make my stay as pleasent as possible. She always keeps the place nice and tidy. And It's a nice and quiet neighborhood. With a park and the fraser river just 2 minutes down the street. Probably one of the best places to stay at if you're new to vancouver!
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
