About the Homestay
Our family lives in a four rooms terrace house in Shanghai, China. The house locates in northwest of Shanghai with 25KM to Hongqiao airport and 1.5KM to metro line 11 and line 7. Our community has free shuttlebus to line 7 Xingzhi station and the shoping area in Dahua community. There is a garden area for BBQ and table tennis room on the third floor. There will be only my parents live in the house from the 1st of August 2018 due to my job assignment abroad, therefor it's better that guests need to are able to understand a little Chinese to have simple communication with my parents for some cases. Of course for any complicated or urgent case guest can also get contact with me via Wechat.

I had an excellent experience staying in Lixian's family for a month. Lixian and her family were very friendly and easygoing. They were very open-minded and liked to share their life with you. Moreover, you could have a shot of Chinese family. The room was big and clear, and it was very quiet during the night. I appreciated a lot that I was accepted by everyone in the family and had my first month in Shanghai smoothly!! THANK YOU!

Lixian and her family are wonderful hosts! They really tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible. They also respected my wishes to speak as much Mandarin as possible but if anything was very important, it was possible to communicate in English as well. Many relatives were over for a certain time which was really interesting and gave me a real insight into a Chinese family life. It's definitely the right place to go if you want to connect with the host family.
I would have loved to spend even more time with this lovely family.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 199 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
