A Stradivarius violin? It seems implausible. They are not sure, but his grandfather bought it from some Germans at the beginning of the 20th century. It is old and has a label inside similar to the original ones. Legitimate or not, it is a curiosity that gives its name to the hostel. The room: located on the top floor, with private terrace and view to the street. Access from the main entrance, without crossing the house. Ford '52 at your disposal for the beach or the valley at promotional price.
You cross the threshold of the house and you receive the living room clean and modest. On your right a staircase to your small terrace in front of the room. Then you receive an elongated bedroom with side blinds and another terrace in the background. Ideal space to enjoy without outside steps that bother or people talking. In your upper room you will receive the sun and the sea breeze. Also breakfast or dinner. All the space for you.
In the Stradivarius Hostel, breakfast is prepared every day, lunch or dinner as well. Drinks, sandwiches, salads, juices ... whatever you like. Also clean and arrange the room every time you request, free of charge. Laundry service is also available.
All the service is carried out by the owners of the house. She is always attentive to her guests. Your work is that. Even if you have your private space, you can go down and ask for what you like, or call her and she goes up. The important thing is that you feel good, and they with their humility and agility make it so.
It is considered a central location, one block away from the street Frank País (Carmen), which is one of the main streets of the city. At night the neighborhood remains lit and you can walk at any time without danger. It is a quiet and safe neighborhood. Nearby are markets for fruits, vegetables, beverages and everyday items. At 3 or 4 blocks there are banks, museums, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, handicraft shops, the Céspedes park, Wifi area and other places of interest.
It is recommended to travel in the Ford '52 of Armando. It's like a dream. If you know how to drive, you may be able to take the wheel. But also, you can rent bikes, they bring you to the house. If you prefer you can take a bus to the beach, or take a horseback ride to the mountains.

This stay was well worth the minimal price we had to pay in central Trinidad. The rooftop room was adequate and up to the Cuban standards we expected. Our hosts were a very friendly and kind family and we used the in house shuttle for the beach a couple of times. One shortcoming was the light in the bathroom had a short and it conked out on the first day, we had to use the bathroom at night with no light for five days.

How do I book?

Contact the host about your stay - tell them a little about yourself, why you are staying and ask any questions you have about their homestay. You will be able to book immediately after sending your message.

When do I pay?

Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.

When can I share my contact details?

Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
