Casa Damarys is the place to go if you REALLY want to be in a true Cuban setting. It is a little far from the centre of Vinales, but a good 5 minute walk is enjoyable in Cuba. The room was adequate. Damarys met me in the centre and took me to her casa which was the typical Cuban home - chicken and roosters were crowing and the neighbors were out all day doing their normal chores.
