About the Area
Gorubathan is a small settlement situated on the east bank of the River Chel, connecting the Dooars with Kalimpong hills within the Darjeeling District, en route Lava/Loleygaon. The region is known for its beautiful and unique landscape as the hills meet the plains here as well as the Neora river, mountains and forests, tea gardens and agrarian lifestyle further up the Hills.The village is surrounded by quite a few tea gardens including Sylee, Fagu and Ranicherra Tea Gardens.
Attractions in and around Gorubathan include the famous Gorumara Wild Life Sanctuary, Jaldhapara Wild Life Sanctuary, Fafarkheti, Fagu Tea Garden, the horticultural destination of Lava, the ancient ruins of Dalim Fort originally built by the Lepcha Kings and the Neora Valley National Park which is about 5 kms north of the region.
Gorubathan is placed at a distance of 90 km from Kalimpong, 96 km from Darjeeling and 59 km from Siliguri and 72 kms from the Bagdogra Airport. The place is accessible by bus, shared taxis and private vehicles.

Feel free to use the kitchen but please clean up after!
Please dont bring in plastic bottles and processed packaged food as much as possible. If you must, then you are requested to take back the used wrapper/bottle with you to a place where recycling and waste management is prevalent.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
