ABOUT US:
We are a well groomed and educated traditional Hindu family. Besides me, the family includes my wife Krishna, our son Utkarsh, daughter-in-law Rashi and our grandson Samvit. We love to celebrate life.
I am a post graduate engineer in Materials Science from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee. I have worked at a senior position in BHEL, a company making turnkey power plants. My wife Krishna has been a post graduate teacher in English and History, Utkarsh is a Chartered Accountant and Rashi is a post graduate in Physical Chemistry. Both, I and my son are widely traveled across the globe. With experience of staying in best hotels of the world we have first-hand appreciation of International standards of hygiene and upkeep. With us, you will feel at ease to converse in English, French, German and Hindi languages.
OUR HOME:
We live in a beautiful two-storey house in which ground floor has our bedrooms, living room, kitchen and dining. The first floor has library, three stylishly furnished spacious guest rooms with independent bathrooms, and open terraces. All rooms are air conditioned and provided with hot blowers for winters.
Ours is a northeast-facing house which is built according to Vaastu, the ancient architectural knowledge of the vedas, so that the inmates experience happiness, peace and tranquility.
We are avid readers and our home possesses many world-class books on philosophy, medicine, literature, fine arts and even martial art, which we are happy to share with our guests.
I like to paint as a hobby and you can see some of my paintings that adorn the walls of our home.
OUR CITY:
Our city Haridwar is located at the foot of the majestic Himalayan mountains. It is blessed with most sacred river The Ganges, many beautiful temples and Ashrams visited by people for yoga, life-changing spiritual experience. It is surrounded by picturesque mountains on three sides.
Haridwar is famous for authentic Ayurvedic treatment for difficult to cure/incurable illnesses.
YOGA:
We ourselves have a yogic lifestyle to keep fit. It is our pleasure to share yogic knowledge and train aspiring guests who wish to rejuvenate themselves with effective and safe yogic practices. Assistance can be provided also for excellent body massage by trained masseurs.
OUR KITCHEN:
We have a beautiful and modern kitchen conforming to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Food is served in our tastefully decorated dining room.
DINING:
Day begins with breakfast and comprises vegetarian Indian / continental dishes. Lunch / dinner are prepared on advance information. We seek the choice of our guests in advance and take pleasure in providing them a rich dining experience.
We regard food reverentially. All food is prepared from fresh seasonal ingredients only and no leftovers are used. Our special emphasis is on providing a delicious and wholesome food. Ingredients containing artificial colors, preservatives, emulsifiers or raising agents are not used. Exotic spices are meticulously chosen and our cooking is aimed at enhancing the original aroma and taste of vegetables without masking them.
Food is cooked by my wife Krishna herself and guests share it with our family on our dining table, so that you may experience traditional Indian hospitality as well as enjoy animated cross-cultural exchange with us and other guests.
ETHICS:
Conforming to the deep-rooted value system of rich ancient Indian tradition, we practice ‘Athithi Devo Bhavah:’ (Guest is Divinity personified) in all essence and spirit.
We treat our guests with reverence and serve them with love and warmth, so that you always feel like your ‘own home’ in Haridwar. We invite you to share our world and celebrate the connection between the ancient and the modern, between tradition and innovation, and between man and his environment. Situated in Shivalik Nagar, a quiet and modern township located in between the old Haridwar city and the newly developed District Headquarters, Homestay Haridwar is just 8 km from the Haridwar railway station and the bus terminus, 34 km from the nearest airport ‘Jolly Grant’, 6 km from the shore of The Ganges river and only 1 km from Pentagon Mall, the biggest shopping mall of the Uttarakhand state. .

We serve home cooked vegetarian authentic Indian food / continental food. Our rooms are non-smoking rooms. Please enjoy your stay and treat our house as you would your own home.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
