About the Homestay
My husband and I live in this large apartment 10 minutes from the historic center of Florence.
The apartment on the 2nd floor with lift is well served by the bus line 6 which takes you to Santa Maria Novella station in 10 minutes. The area where we live is not tourist and via Gioberti offers small restaurants and pubs frequented by Florentines. The commercial area of the neighborhood is full of various shops including banks.
We have a very large room of 25 square meters and very bright with two beds, a wardrobe, a desk and a bookcase. A bathroom with a shower cabin is available to the two guests. The American students we have often hosted have been very happy. Stefano is an architect and works in his studio in Settignano, Daniela is a journalist and has a small publishing house.

About the Area
Our delightful apartment is located near the historic center, 25 minutes walk to Piazza del Duomo. Line 6 ATAF the railway station of Santa Maria Novella is 10 minutes. Arriving by car is easy to park in the street. The area is quiet and inhabited by Italian families for a lifetime. The street parallel to ours is via Gioberti full of shops and restaurants. The walk to everything right in front of you to Piazza Duomo (25 minute walk) is a must to meet along the way the monuments and historical sites of Florence.

Daniela and Stefano were most friendly and accommodating hosts. Their home was lovely, plenty spacious, and meticulously clean. They happily helped to acclimatize us to the area, getting to all our preferred sites, providing restaurant recommendations, and helping with taxi-booking. They were very kind and mild mannered people and made us feel welcome for the duration of our visit with them.
I spent an absolutely wonderful month with Daniela and Stefano. They are such kind, generous, and personable hosts, and staying with them greatly enhanced my experience of Florence. I was well looked-after in highly comfortable and clean surroundings, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking to visit the city.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 199 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
