Located 400 meters above sea level, Montenero enjoys a large marine and terrestrial horizon of particular beauty. From here the gaze runs to the rock of the Meloria, memorable for the famous battle between Genoa and Pisa (1284), but also to the Livorno plain with its port and that of Pisa. To the south you can see the island of Elba, Corsica, Sardinia and the wonderful sunsets.
The apartment is located 300 mt from the central square of the homonymous sanctuary.
The silence of the village, combined with the panorama and the Mediterranean breeze, guarantee a rejuvenating holiday, just a stone's throw from the sea.
Its unique location allows guests to reach the most beautiful cities of Tuscany such as Florence, Siena, Pisa and Lucca in less than an hour's drive.

I am present in the structure, which is an annex to my residence, in the periods when I place it at disposal for the guests.

Other information:

MONTENERO
Montenero, situated on a hill dominating the sea and the port of Livorno, is among the most famous Tuscan sites especially due to its famous Sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady of Grace. It is reported that a cripple pastor, around 1345, found a miraculous image that asked him to be carried on the Montenero hill. Hearing the voice the shepherd did as he had been asked and came to the top of the hill he was cured. Since then, that image of Our Lady has never ceased to be a source of devotion and grace for all those who turn to it, and the Sanctuary that is born is a destination for pilgrimages and visits by a large number of people.

The treasures of Livorno

The province of Livorno comprises 20 municipalities and has about 340,000 inhabitants. Five islands are included in the territory (Elba, Capraia, Gorgona, Pianosa and Montecristo). The capital is Livorno with about 160,000 inhabitants. It is the fifth Tuscan province for the number of inhabitants, and the seventh per surface among the ten Tuscans. It is home to two major commercial ports (Livorno and Piombino). It overlooks the Ligurian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea, borders the province of Pisa and the province of Grosseto. The Provincial Authority of Livorno is competent, on the basis of regional regulations, on the extra-urban public transport and manages the five urban services in its territory (Livorno, Rosignano, Cecina, Piombino, Portoferraio).
