Stay with Silvia, Gaetano and Eugenia in our home in Modena. We have one bedroom with two beds. We live in the historic center of the city. It is a 3 minute walk to the principal square of Modena, Piazza Grande, where the Duomo (Cathedral) and the Tower Ghirlandina are located. And it's very near also to the Palace of Museums (Palazzo dei Musei) and to the most important buildings and monuments of historical and artistic interest.
Our house is ancient and that's why it has a special atmosphere, warm and friendly. The guest room is frescoed, has two beds and it's next to the bathroom, with shower. We have a big kitchen (with oven, microwave, grill) where our guests can cook and share meals with the family enjoying the good and healthy Italian food in an atmosphere of conviviality and warm welcome.
Located 5 minutes from our house is a typical local market where you can find all kinds of best quality food (fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, dairy products and local products) and in our neighborhood there are plenty of restaurants, pizzerias and bars to spend the night. It's also an ideal location if you're interested to the famous Massimo Bottura's Osteria Francescana.
We are in a very convenient position for public transport: 10 min. walk from the bus station (where you can take a coach to Bologna's Airport) and 15 minutes walk from the train station. If you like cycling you can also ask information at the Tourist Office to be allowed to use the bicycles the city provides to residents and tourists.
What makes our house and our guest room special? The charm of the decorated walls, the antique furniture, the informal and welcoming atmosphere.

Modena is a really nice small city in the North of Italy. I stayed there for around a month to go to the archives and had a great time. The house is located in the historic center of the city and has a very comfy kitchen. The room was decent as well. The only real thing lacking was a stable internet connection.

Un accogliente e naturale famiglia italiana.
Sono rimasto una settimana da Silvia e Gaetano. Ero in una bella camera azzurra con vicino il bagno commune. I ospiti mi hanno fatto scoprire prodotti locali ed è stato un piacere.
La casa era situata nel centro storico, vicino del Duomo.
Modena è una città tranquilla con una bella qualità di vita. Nel centro molti circolano con la bici, che si può noleggiare facilmente.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
