Our green building structure is located on the first hills of Bologna, in the Carteria di Sesto area, on the border with the Parco dei Gessi Bolognesi and Calanchi dell'Abbadessa. We are at the end of a dirt road that rises from approximately 130 meters to 180 metres, you can climb either on foot or by mountain bike, car or van. We don't have animals but we can accommodate dogs without problems, as well as small children (we have two aged 8 and 5). The house is a 30 square meter studio apartment with bathroom, kitchen and double bed, an independent space, with free access at any time, independent heating and air conditioning, fridge, washing machine and hob available. The apartment is entirely in green building, i.e. wood and straw, completed in 2023 with latest generation technologies (heat pump, rainwater recovery system, storage batteries). Outside we have about a hectare of space with a forest, compost toilet and tree house!

About the Area
We are located on the first hills of the Emilian Apennines, just 20 minutes by car from the city of Bologna. The environment is isolated from any other house, in the middle of a forest where roe deer, wild boars, hares, foxes and some wolves live. Via Mater Dei also passes through here, one of the best-marked hiking trails in the area (the road that leads to our house is a small part of Via Mater Dei). Children have plenty of space to run and play, while adults can relax with a barbecue or a ride on mountain bikes and fat bikes for rent (we have 3 available). For those who love nature, the Gessi Bolognesi and Calanchi dell'Abbadessa Park is a true paradise of paths and panoramic points suitable for any level of experience. Definitely worth visiting all year round, especially in spring when temperatures are ideal and in autumn during the foliage!

House Rules
The only rule is that of respect: smoking is not allowed inside the house, nor organizing parties with many people. We have an outdoor barbecue area available, fat bikes and electric mountain bikes, space for children (including a little house in the woods)... The important thing is to ask and organize in advance!

"Quel séjour extraordinaire chez la famille de Roberto à Bologne ! Avec Alice, nous avons eu la chance de passer trois jours au sommet de leur petit coin de paradis, niché au cœur de la nature. L'expérience fut tout simplement incroyable !
Nous avons été accueillis avec une chaleur humaine exceptionnelle, découvrant une famille authentique et généreuse. Les moments partagés étaient empreints de convivialité et de simplicité, créant une atmosphère unique.
Cerise sur le gâteau, nous avons eu l'opportunité d'apprendre la véritable recette de la carbonara, un régal pour les papilles ! Ces moments de partage culinaire resteront gravés dans nos mémoires.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) and a 25% deposit using a choice of payments: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal. The deposit is collected in advance on behalf of the host to protect against no show or late cancellations (within 7 days of arrival). You then pay your host the balance due on arrival. The 25% deposit payment is made to the host 2 business days after your scheduled arrival date. This deposit payment will only be refunded if you cancel the booking at least 7 full days prior to arrival.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
