Thank you so much for allowing us to stay with you
This was a fantastic homestay. Shinya, Haruka and thier sons were the nicest people we have met. We felt welcomed into their family and enjoyed every moment. My son and I stayed for only 3 nights, but had such a comfortable and welcoming experience. We hired a car and explored the area, but there is also good public transport very close to the house. There are lots of shops and conveniences nearby.
The family room we stayed in was traditional Japanese tatami mats and futons, which was very comfortable. The room was warm and the house was quiet in the evenings so we slept very well.
Haruka explained house rule, washing, areas we could use and keep food etc. Hot drink sachets were free to use when we needed. Everything was perfect and I do very much hope that one day I can return to Kashihara and stay with this wonderful family again.
Thank you so much, from Lomia and Oscar

I spent 54 days with Shinya and his family. Already on the day of my arrival, I quickly felt more and more grateful and happy to be a guest here. Together, we practiced my Japanese (using expressions not found in textbooks), I greatly enjoyed going out for ramen and sushi, participating in the tako-yaki and Nebu parties, and laughing a lot. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. ありがと <3 <3 <3

This homestay was the highlight of our 3 week trip in Japan. Shinya-san and Haruka-san are two of the most generous, friendly, kind-hearted people you will ever meet. Their boys are wonderful too - my teens really enjoyed the night out with them.
We enjoyed absolutely everything about our stay - very comfortable, private room and a family that we so enjoyed getting to know. The location is also sensational - our first day we spent enjoying the deer and great food in Nara, our second day we hired bikes and rode around the strawberry farms and rice fields in Asuka - so stunning! The home is also an easy walk from the station if you don't have a car.
If you are thinking about a homestay in a beautiful part of Japan where you will be warmly welcomed as part of the family, while also having the freedom to enjoy your own space - this is the perfect place!
Thankyou Shinya, Haruka and family (including your gorgeous pets) for making our trip so memorable. We can't wait until you come and visit us in Australia as we would love to return the favour someday. xx

I loved every moment of my stay with Shinya and his family. They are incredibly friendly and very welcoming. I stayed with them for only three days, but I felt like I was already part of the family, which filled my heart with warmth. I got to learn so much about the Japanese culture thanks to them, and I got to practice the Japanese language as well. We also played some card games together, which was a lot of fun. Thank you so much for everything, I am thankful and happy that I could spend the New Year with you! I am looking forward to seeing you again

My granddaughter and I stayed with Shinya's family for 3 nights in August 2023. The family is so welcoming! We were given access to many rooms in the house, had use of a shelf in the fridge, and free use of the bathroom and shower facilities. Shinya and his family took us out for a number of different eating experience including an authentic sushi experience. They spent a day showing us around the Nara area. There was still plenty of time for us to do our own activities, but because the weather was so hot we used the afternoons to have some rest and downtime. Shinya's place is only a 5 minute walk from the train station, so spending the day at other sites is easy to do. We want to thank the family for their hospitality! We now have a new Japan family!

We had an amazing time staying with Shinya and his family. Their warmness and openness touched our hearts. They gave great recommendations for local dining, as well. I will definitely book again with them next time I’m in Japan!

Shinya and Haruka were wonderful hosts. They made us feel very welcome and comfortable in their lovely home. They took us on a great trip to Asuka ( an old traditional village). They are very kind and generous. We had lovely conversations and get very welcome. I would highly recommend them as hosts and hope to return and stay with them again sometime. Thank you so much from Sharon and Dylan

I had such a lovely time with Shinya and his family. They were so warm, welcoming and hospitable. I was taught about the local area and sights, which is what I wanted to see. I definitely recommend staying with them, as I know that guests are in good hands. I hope to see them again soon. Thank you again, Shinya and family!
