This was my first trip to Japan and Esmat, his lovely family and his home were perfect for my first night’s stay. He was so exceptionally welcoming as a host, and went out of his way to show me the beautiful, calm Buddhist temple right near his home. I really could not have asked for a better host and way to begin my trip.

We had a great stay here with Esmat and his family. Brilliant hosts who made us feel very welcome. We particularly loved our tour of the local temple and its turtles. It wasn't the easiest place to find, but gave us a real sample of Japanese life. The children were an absolute delight too. Thank you very much for our stay.

We loved our stay here! Esmat and his family are wonderful and we miss them already. After two days they already felt like old friends. We were lucky to be there on New Years day when we got to enjoy a fabulous traditional holiday brunch with the family. Esmat's children are adorable, friendly and so much fun - our own kids were considering a move to Japan so they could play all the time together ;-) We would go back in a heartbeat!
A note for future bookers: this is a big house in a suburban setting. It is a bit of a walk to the JR line but there is a local train in the village where you can easily switch. Getting to Kyoto and Osaka is easy but takes a bit of time. If your primary interest in staying is to really explore the cities, this may not be the best option. However if you would like a lovely homestay, talking to hosts about life in Japan, exploring village life and a traditional comfortable Japanese room, this is ideal. Also the village has all conveniences, just on a smaller scale.January 2017
We had a wonderful stay with Esmat and his family, who live in a quiet, picturesque neighbourhood, which is also home to a lovely temple that's worth a visit. Although this neighbourhood is about 25 minutes from the main Kyoto station, it is very easy to access and has a small shopping street right by the station with a good izakaya. It was a very good base for visiting Kyoto and Nara, and if we had had the time, we would have gone to Osaka as well. The tatami room is very comfortable and we highly recommend the experience with this pleasant family. Esmat and his family enjoy meeting visitors and will make you feel very welcome.

The house is located beetwen osaka and Kyoto,if your iteneraty mostly at osaka city ,its take a bit time. But the house only walking distance from hankyu line station ,its easy to to travel though.
Nice room in quiet neihborhood.
Host are helpful and informative.
I enjoyed the stay :-)October 2016
Clean home, traditional Japanese room was a nice experience. Children were adorable and the whole family was very quiet. Esmat was very kind and easy to speak to. I highly recommend this homestay if you are looking for a very relaxing atmosphere. However if you want to stay out late you may want to consider a homestay with a more flexible bed time.

We spent 2 weeks travelling around Tokyo, Fuji-san, Kyoto & more. We can safely say the 3 evenings at the home of Mat & Aikiko were the most relaxing & enjoyable we had. Convenient to Kyoto & Osaka (just 5 minute walk to train), our hosts were always warm, interesting, fun & welcoming. Their young children are also a pleasure to meet. We would be more than happy to stay here in the future.
