Hello and welcome to my homestay profile. We have a very comfortable family home in Shiga. Our house is located 30mins away from Kyoto by train. I have a cozy private room available with a single bed. I live with my husband and two dogs. My husband and I can't speak English, but we are friendly and easy going. I also have a daughter living in Hokkaido who speaks English, and she can help us if we have some language trouble. We would prefer a mature and respectful person who can fit in with our relaxed household. Please feel free to contact me. Thank you for looking

About the Area
Our house is located 30 mins away from Kyoto station, and 10mins away from closest stations by bicycle. This place is very peaceful and safe area close to Lake-biwa which is the biggest lake in Japan.

Meals

I'd give more than 5 stars if I could.
This was my first homestay experience and I was a bit anxious. However, Kanna, Fumi and the rest of the Echigo family were all very lovely and made me feel at home right away.
Everyone was very helpful and was very eager to show me around Shiga, giving me tips on where to go and what to do, etc.
Kanna is an excellent cook and an excellent Kansai-ben teacher (そうやんな！) and I learn a lot from her. I'll definitely miss her cooking :')
2 weeks went by very quickly but I hope to be back again soon!みんな、ありがとうございました。

My stay was beyond perfect I had such a great time with Kanna, Fumi and the whole family, I think we will definitely see each other as friends now
Ps: Kanna was really patient and a great 先生 (teacher) when I tried to speak with my little Japanese.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
