Puran and his family are lovely, and very welcoming. My room was clean and comfortable, and the food served for breakfast and dinner was very tasty. Puran will answer any questions you have about Kathmandu and travelling in Nepal. The house also has a rooftop area, with beautiful views of Kathmandu. The only drawback is that there is just one bathroom, shared by the guests of three rooms. This sometimes means having to wait for a while to get in. That aside, this is a great place to stay during your time in Kathmandu.
If you are thinking about finding the best homestay in Kathmandu... Well, here it is! Puran and Bina are such welcoming people. I planned to stay 3 nights but I extended for other 3 nights. Their house is at walking distance from all the interesting places in Kathmandu, and they are very happy to help or to suggest other places to visit and the way to reach them. I enjoyed to share the dinner with them, I felt really welcomed in the family. They taught me some useful sentences in Nepali, one day I could go with Bina to visit the kindergarten where she warks (I'm a teacher) and I'm sure I will be back when I come again to Kathmandu... So, don't hesitate! :)
Very warm hearted family helps you get to know Nepal from the inside
If you want a positive, local living experience in Kathmandu look no further. Their home is just outside Thamel so you'll get a chance to see how locals live, rather than staying in superficial Thamel. That being said, their house has a shower and extra warm blankets so you'll never be cold. Puran is an experienced tour guide so I you have any questions about Kathmandu or hiking in Nepal, he is a wealth of information! I stayed and celebrated with them over Christmas and the New Year holiday and couldn't have asked for more. Amazing people. Amazing family. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Puran and Bina's house became as the second home for me in Nepal. They met me very nice and friendly. My room was really cozy and clean, with a comfortable bed, warm blanket and it's placed separately as your own mini flat. And the food was very tasty.
It has great localization, very close to Thamel area, but you can also feel staying in a local place, not so busy and touristic as the city center.
Puran also helped me a lot with organizing trek in mountains in all details. And when I'd finished it I went back to Puran's house with pleasant feeling like I was getting home.
I was lucked to get in this house, to meet this kind and very friendly family. Next time when I come to Kathmandu I know for sure where to stay.
Best Place, Best Family. Puran is an awesome guy who helped us alot with arranging our trips in Kathmandu. His wife Bina is v nice and their son Mishal babu is so adorable. I loved him :) The home is in Nayabazar only 10 mins away from Thamel. The room is clean and spacious with comfortable beds and has shared bathroom. The food was good also. The eggs and tea was sooo good :) Thank u so much Puran all ur help and for being such a wonderful host. Highly Highly Recommended whenever u r in kathmandu. Goodluck for all u do. Kya Karooon hahaha. Take Care Puran Bro. Aali and Usman from US and Pak.
This is the place to be if you want to live the authentic local Nepali life. If you come with an open mindset, and if you are ready to get to know more about Nepali culture and lifestyle, your stay will be memorable. You will share traditional Nepali meals with the family, possibly even eating it with your hands (Nepali style!). But don't worry, Bine (or Didi, the big sister) will gracefully provide a spoon or fork if you still prefer eating more comfortably. Puran, the Daï of the house (big brother in Nepali, although it depends of your age as a guest, if you're older than him, he would be Baï) speaks fluently English and French. He can really feel his guests. He seems to know exactly what you need without even asking. If you desire more privacy or liberty, he will totally respect it. On the other hand, if you need some help or information about Nepal, with his great attentiveness, he will always be ready to hear you and will do his best to fulfill your wishes. He finds the right balance which makes him a perfect host. Moreover, he has extensive knowledge of trekking trails across the country and will be very happy to share it with you. If you wish to learn Nepali, he will make time for you every evening to gradually teach you this sacred speech. The babu's (little brothers) are lovely. They speak very well English and are eager to share their achievements at school with you. The bedroom is very clean, comfortable and quiet. There is also a rooftop with a panoramic view of the surroundings. As for the localisation in Nayabazaar neighbourhood, it is just perfect, close to the city center, the touristic Thamel area, the river and the iconic Swayambunath temple (which you can easily see from the rooftop) but still quiet and with local vibes around.
I highly recommend it!

Stay with Puran in Kathmandu for medical internship

Puran and Bina's house is such a great place to stay, for a short or a long time.
The rooms are clean, as well as the shared bathroom. The beds are comfortable and there are furnitures to tidy your things up. You also have your personal space, as the guest rooms are in the 3rd floor and the family's appartment in the 2nd floor. There's a very nice terrace with a beautiful view of the Monkey temple and the neighborhood.
As for the Puran and Bina's hospitality, it's just perfect. They are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. They will take good care of you, helping with the organization of your stay, answering all your questions, preparing amazing meals and being available as much as possible. It's a beautiful family, with a big heart. I had a perfect 4 month stay with them, enjoying great breakfasts and dinners, participating in their family parties, going on sunday hikes with them. I can't wait to go back and meet them again.
