I'm Jewel, a warm and friendly host who has been welcoming guests from around the globe for the past 20 years.
Welcome to my two-storey French-inspired home in sunny East Auckland, New Zealand. Situated in a very safe suburb with a charming village nearby that offers all the essentials, my home is perfect for families, individuals, or travellers seeking a peaceful retreat.
You'll find my home conveniently close to stunning beaches with breathtaking sunrise and sunset views. The Half Moon Bay Marina is just a quick five-minute drive away, providing easy access to daily ferry rides to picturesque Waiheke Island or bustling Auckland City.
A bus stop is conveniently located just a 3-minute walk from my home, offering access to nearby supermarkets, shopping malls—including Botany Town Centre and Sylvia Park, Auckland's largest shopping malls—and the vibrant city centre.
Inside my home, alongside your comfortable room, you'll find a welcoming shared lounge area with a cosy fireplace, TV, and outdoor space.
For your convenience, I offer airport pickup for a small fee of $40 NZD to ensure your arrival is as seamless as possible, especially if navigating public transport seems daunting.
Please note that I have two friendly cats who are used to having guests, and I kindly request that my home remains smoke-free.

Wir sind sehr enttäuscht von dieser Gastfamilie. Das Zimmer und das Haus war dermassen so verdreckt und herunter gekommen, so das wir nicht bleiben konnten und sind gezwungen gewesen uns sofort eine andere Bleibe zu suchen. Es wurde uns ein Zimmer für 3 Personen angeboten mit eigenem Bad und Toilette. Das war nicht der Fall wir hätten das Badezimmer mit anderen teilen müssen. Außerdem konnte das Zimmer nicht ordnungsgemäß verschlossen werden da es keinen Schlüssel gab und Jewel behauptete es wäre so save das wir keinen Schlüssel brauchen.

I stayed for just 4 days. A great experience, I was met with much hospitality and was given lots of helpful tips for being in this new country! The host was very kind and answered any questions quickly. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a place to stay near the city!

Jewel was a great host. She is kind and active. My room was cozy. I wished I could be taught how to cook much more. I want to hope to catch up again before I leave the country.

Jewel is the sweetest most helpful person i have ever met. Her rooms to rent are clean and very comfortable and the common areas are always kept tidy....I would recommend her accomodation to anyone seeking short term room rentals.

Really enjoyed our stay, the room was very homey and comfy. Jewel always made sure we had everything we needed wether it was for cooking, cleaning or supplying us with an army of pillows and blankets when it got colder. The house and Jewel, made our stay in Auckland very comfortable and extremely enjoyable. Would definitely stay there again.
How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
