It's just me in my sunny, spacious two-level '70s town-house with a beautiful private outlook over native bush. We share the lounge, open plan kitchen and dining area and bathroom. Your bedroom upstairs has a Queen bed, large wardrobe, dresser, bookshelf with all bedding and linen provided.
There's off-street parking or if you prefer public transport, bus stops nearby and it's only 3kms to Takapuna beach or city shops, restaurants and entertainment.
It's a modest abode but the company's convivial ;). I'm a well travelled, outgoing, creative professional in my sensational 60s.
My vocation in tour guiding follows 30+ yrs in editorial photography, corporate and travel writing, property renovation projects and gardening. I enjoy hiking, sailing, garden projects and time with family and friends.
I'm happy to show you local haunts or steer you toward other aspects of this wonderful country and city.

About the Area
This townhouse is located on the North Shore of Auckland, just over the Harbour Bridge, near Takapuna, Milford, Glenfield and Birkenhead town centres. Bus stops are nearby. The property is set off the road, overlooking native bush, catching the northern sun, with parking for a vehicle off-road. The house is 1970s style, high pitched ceilings, separate kitchen/dining and lounge, stereo, tv, modest, fully furnished.

Meals

Sorry but no smoking and no animals - human or other! :)
I'll give you a key and we all need to double-lock the front door when leaving the house
You're welcome to use the kitchen but please clean up after!
If you would like to invite a friend over we just need to agree it in advance and being a town house we need to keep noise to a respectable level after 10pm.
I do try to maintain a "shoes off at front door" habit ;) - otherwise, just treat my home as you would your own and enjoy your stay! :).

J’ai eu beaucoup de chance d’avoir Julia comme hôte. C’est une personne très gentille et bienveillante. Elle a pris le temps de me guider dans un environnement qui était nouveau pour moi, ainsi que de me faire visiter un certains nombres de quartiers d’Auckland. Sa maison est propre, chaleureuse et au calme. Mon aventure en Nouvelle Zélande ne pouvait pas mieux commencer. Merci Julia pour tout.

Julia is the most wonderful host! Not only is she kind and accomodating but she also has a beautiful house! The room is big and comfortable and the shared spaces are in top condition. The house rules were clear from the beginning and she communicates very effectively what is required of her guests. She is also a great person to talk to and share a meal with! She knows a lot about New Zealand so I couldn't have asked for a better person to stay here upon arrival in this beautiful country.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
