We live in a quiet cul-de-sac on the Western hills of Lower Hutt city. 7 mins to the centre of Lower Hutt and 15-20 mins to Wellington City. My husband and I have 3 children who now live away from home and overseas. The home is very large and comfortable and has all the amenities you would want..... 4 bedrooms, three bathrooms, home theatre, games room, sauna and spa pool facilities. The man of the house is an amazing cook and does all the meals, whereas I am the best baker!! We have two small family pets, a Scottish terrier and a west highland white terrier.

About the Area
The house is situated on the Western hills - has amazing views of the Hutt Valley and Wellington in a quiet and safe suburb. The main Westfield shopping mall is 7 mins away and there is a lovely group of boutique shops and trendy cafes in a neighbouring suburb of Petone which is 15 mins away and Wellington city is also 20 mins away.
We do advise people to take a rental car as there is no bus service at the top of the hill but it is a nice walk in summer down to the town below.

House Rules
Since 1997 we have hosted many guests from overseas and NZ and we want to make people feel at home. So a relaxing atmosphere is offered and guests are welcome to relax with the hosts as part of the family or have their own privacy if required. We do have another Queen size room available upstairs which would share the bathroom with the French room if this was required by a family but I have not advertised that as a separate room as yet. We have a baby Grand piano which guests are welcome to play if they wish.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
