Hi from Kasia and Arek !
We have been married for more than 20 years and we’ve got one 20-year-old daughter who lives on her own with her husband. I (Kasia ) am an English teacher and work at a general secondary school nearby. Arek is an IT specialist and manages big projects of such brands as Cisco. We love mountain hiking, nature, good food, good coffee and dogs. We don’t smoke. Our home is a peaceful and quiet space where we relax, rest and laugh a lot.
We used to be a foster family and in the last 12 years we shared our home with 8 kids who were 3-11 years old. Two years ago after the challenges imposed by the lockdown and inefficient online teaching, we burnt out and don’t feel like hosting small kids at the moment. However, we are used to having more people at home than only us two and we miss that feeling :)
That is why we will gladly share our home space with teenagers or students or other other people who are looking for a long-term homestay in a place, which is close to a forest and a lake, but at the same time has a perfect public transportation system connecting us with all the towns of the Silesian region.
International students coming for internships will have a 20-minute bike ride to the factories (e.g. Saint-Gobain factory).

About the Area
Our house is located in the green side of the city in a quiet and safe suburb. We are 4,5 km (10-minute drive) from the city centre, 800 m from the train station and a bus stop, 20 minute drive from the Katowice- Pyrzowice airport, 20 minute bike ride from Saint-Gobain factory. The bus stop and the train station are only a 10 minute walk away and your can get everywhere from there, including Sosnowiec, Katowice, Czestochowa or Gliwice. There are modern cycling lanes as well. You can take a bike and get to the lake in 10 minutes to swim in or ride around the lake.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
