I live alone with my sweet greyhound Luna in a traditional renovated Portuguese house on the outskirts of the Algarvian town of Vila Real de Santo António on the border with Spain (Andalucia). Close to river and ocean beaches, within walking distance to the charming town center and marina. All amenities and public transportation to Faro, Lisbon and beyond. House has 2 bedrooms, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, living room, study, patio and roof terrace. A/C units in bedrooms and living area. Quiet Portuguese neighborhood. I am retired and multi-lingual (English, French, Portuguese).

About the Area
The house is located in the Sapal neighborhood along the Guadiana river near the road to Castro Marim and the bridge to Spain. It is about a 15 minute walk to the town center, and 7 minutes to the nearest supermarket. It is a quiet traditional neighborhood with gardens, agricultural areas, horses, chickens and other livestock.

House Rules
1. Smoking only permitted outdoors.
2. Please note that you will be required to provide a valid ID by email once your application has been confirmed online. Grateful also if you would complete a guest profile and provide a video message about yourself and the reason(s) for your visit.
3. Please keep our home secure and lock doors and windows and activate alarm when leaving the house.
4. Feel free to use the kitchen but take care of equipment and clean up after use.
5. No pet visitors allowed in the house.
6. Please do not bring strangers into the house without host permission.
7. Please feel comfortable in our home but also respect it as your own.
8. Appreciate quiet in the house after 10 PM.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
