I was born and raised in Cape Town and managed to pursue a career as a bookkeeper. Although my profession was never my passion, it enabled me to look after my family. Years later an opportunity arose and I started a catering and décor company which took off instantaneously. Because of my love for cooking and my passion for people, I met up with a previous homestay owner and once again was given the opportunity to spread my wings. I now do what I love most and have the continued support of my husband, two daughters and my son. I thank the Lord each day. I could not have done it without Him.
There is nothing I love more than being in the kitchen. It’s where I get creative with my Cape Malay dishes. My signature dishes, Butter Chicken, Bread Pudding and Milk Tart Pancakes are just a few of favourite meals, I usually prepare for my guests. Butter Chicken to die for, as my youngest daughter would say. I love reading Christian literature, my all-time favourite book being the Bible. It never gets old and there are always lessons to learn. My golden rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, Cook for others as you would like to eat!!! .
We are in close proximity of Tygerberg Hospital, UWC and the Tectonic Velodrome. Conveniently close to all Public Transport, or alternatively our Tip Top Chauffers and Tour Guides Francois & Malvin, will be all too pleased to make sure you get to your destination safely. Bellville Mall is located in walking distance and has a Spar, some Restaurants and a Dental and Medical Centre. Tyger Valley Mall, Parow Centre, and Century City Shopping Centre are all just a few minutes away. We have hosted hundreds of guests, all from different backgrounds and cultures, and you can rest assure that Nadia & Hazel and the rest of the team are hands-on in the daily management. How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
