The room I was to stay in smelled of cigarette smoke and I asked to open the window. Nellie said that they do not smoke in the apartment they go to the garden to smoke---I told her I had asthma and showed her my inhaler. I coughed all night.

No lock on the bathroom door you have to turn a red/green block over to indicate usage that is hung on the door.

Nellie and the family stay up all night, there was loud noise until 6ish. I was very frightened.7.

When I woke up I took a shower and told the sister I wanted to talk to Nellie but she said she wasn't there. So I told her that someone in this house smokes and I coughed all night and I won't be able to stay there. She gave me my money back less the night's charge.

Homestay Host Family Nellie in ,

This information is 100% untrue. Our bathroom is separate from our toilet we have an indicator on which we turn red when entering and green when we leave. We now have a key. Our bathroom and guest rooms have keys. Guest are welcome to lock their doors. We told this woman kindly to close the toilet door after using it she neither flushed it or closed it we had to do both each time for her. When we told her to wash her hands she refused. Regarding the smoke she smelled I told her to keep the window close she said she likes it open and then later complained. There was a huge mountain fire and its not our fault if she failed to keep her window close. We all had a difficult time that night as a result of the smoke. Apparently it was reported a car burned out and exploded on Table Mountain. Feel free to Google the following dates. 7 - 8 February 2017 (http://www.news24.com/SouthAfrica/News/car-destroyed-in-table-mountain-fire-20170208) . I have the house rules on my profile. We only allow people to smoke outside our garden as it is now the law at all public places. We also tell guest to respect us as we respect them. Upon her arrival she was drunk and when I offered her tea or coffee she insisted upon wine or beer. Regarding noise's our block of flats are well aware of the house rules. Each owner will be fined if they make noise's after a certain hour. The noise she heard came from a house where interns had a party. We have reported this to the owner and we have been informed that won't happen again. Please any body who wishes to stay with us we hope you are hygienically clean as we don't tolerate dirty people. We keep a very clean and tidy place.
Due to her asthma she kept us all night out of sleep and used the toilet many times during the night and each time we had to flush it.
We had another guest staying with us at the same time Susan arrived and he had no issues regarding noise's from us, other than the once off noise's which came from the intern house across from our place. He wishes to book with us again in the near future.
