A countryside, homely retreat in Johannesburg where you can unplug from the noise, relax and spend time in the garden, abundant with greenery, grapevines, fruit and nut trees and birdlife.
Just a 40 minute drive from Sandton and OR Tambo airport, Henley on Klip is a quaint little community orientated village in the south of Johannesburg, on the banks of the Klip river.
English Immersion Homestay:
If you'd like to improve your English while you're here, your host, Nazlee, is a certified English teacher with international teaching experience. She will help you integrate your formal learning into your every day spoken English. You'll be immersed in an English language environment and will leave feeling confident speaking English.

About the Area
Here you’ll experience a unique, community orientated village where you’ll feel right at home. Before you leave our homestay, you will come to know many people in the village and many people will know your name. It is a special place where care is taken of the environment, residents, children and animals.
For English Immersion guests, your host will show you around so you experience life as a local while you get to practice your English with those you meet.
Things to do and places to visit in and around Henley on Klip, include:
Henley has many historical, heritage homes dating back to the late 1800s, early 1900s. There are good restaurants, pubs and delis in Henley on Klip and there’s always social and outdoor activities planned within the community.
There’s the Henley bowling club, Henley library and museum, Bass Lake Adventures (a place to go diving and picnicking) and many more things to see and do. Oh and not forgetting the Klip river, which flows through the area.
Henley is also home to many species of birds and wildlife. You will often see rabbits hopping around the area and locals walking and cycling the streets and enjoying time at the eateries in Henley. There is always time to stop for a chat.
At weekends, there are local flea markets where you’ll meet local artists and craftsman with unique and interesting handmade items.
There are also quite a few local charities in the area helping people and animals so if you’d like to volunteer your time helping local charities, your host can advise and assist you in becoming involved in these volunteer projects.
There are hiking trails nearby as well if you enjoy walking in the outdoors.
If you choose to go sightseeing in the greater Johannesburg and Gauteng, there are many more wonderful places to visit.
It’s best that you hire a car to get around. Should you prefer your host to arrange your travel, please let me know.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
