I live with my wife Menaka, our grown up children left home for employment and higher education.
We want our guests to be very comfortable and our home is open for the guests.
We have stopped serving meals temporarily but there are lots of restaurants within half a km.
I could share my experiences of wildlife and travelling throughout Sri Lanka as we have a lot of travelling experience. You could travel to Sigiriya Lions Rock,Dambulla cave temple,Pinnawela Elephant orphanage, Hantane tea museum,Botanical Gardens Peradeniya, The 3 Temples that's Embakke,Lankathilaka and Gadaladeniya which dated back to 1300AD. You could walk to the second and the 3rd temple through the traditional villages if you have time. All of these as day trips by bus or taxi.
A day trip to Nuwara Eliya tea gardens and water falls could be arranged by taxi or by bus. You could travel to Ella or Galle and Matara by train from Kandy. Buses leave to Katunayake Bandaranaike international Airport from kandy.
The Udawatte Kele Tropical nature reserve awaits you for to walk either in the morning or afternoon. You could see Wild pigs,Mongoose,Deer,Owls,Porcupine, and many local birds and butterflies. This is walking distance from our Home stay.
Many restaurants and pubs in the city are fifteen to twenty minutes walk from the home stay.

A really lovely, comfortable homestay only a 15 minute walk on a straight road into Kandy.. The road leads directly to The Temple of The Tooth.
The homestay was extremely clean, the bed was very comfy and it was an added bonus to be able make tea\coffee any time. The room was very spacious, our room had a balcony. The breakfast was good.
The owners were so nice and helpful, giving us information about visiting the sights of Kandy.February 2019
This guest awarded the host 5 hearts but didn’t leave any comments.

This was a charming and enjoyable 3-night stay. The care and interest shown to us was both natural and genuine. The house is calm and well-ordered and the quality of information about local sights and events is very good. A warm thank you!

Nayanananda and Menaka are the greatest hosts we have met in Sri Lanka. Menaka is a great cook, and she took care of me and my boyfriend very well during our stay. Nayanananda is a great culture advocate. He is a sincere Buddhist and is very proud of Sri Lanka. He was very generous and open sharing with us the beauty of Sri Lanka. And his stories formed my major memory of this country.

The family was very welcoming, Nayananda had great tips on what to do in Kandy and how to get around.
The room was exactly as described and very clean, spacious and bathroom was great. There was no AC just a fan if that bothers you but with the climate in Kandy we never felt too hot in the house.
We had breakfast served at a time suitable to us which made our days smoother, and breakfast was always filling!
Nayananda and his wife were friendly and did all they could to help our stay, they helped us with booking taxis and advised on where to book certain tours which was incredibly helpful.
Their place was close to the Rainforest sanctuary (within walking distance) and about 10-15mins walk from shops and restaurants in Kandy. It’s about 20-25mins to Kandy where the main temples are.
It felt more like a B&B than a homestay because the room we had was in a separate house and they were living in another house next door.
The stay is next to a school that starts quite early in the morning which did not bother us, but if you like to sleep in there is quite abit of noise.
Thank you for a lovely stay, it was comfortable and a great location.April 2018
Very comfortable, conveniently situated accommodation. Lovely hosts.

This home stay deserves top marks. Nayanananda and his delightful wife and equally delightful daughter looked after us extremely well, both the accommodation and the breakfasts. In particular also was Nayanananda's very helpful guidance regarding the must see/ do venues in and around Kandy.
Value for money the very top.
Nayanananda the only one feature you lack is a small outside sitting space for weary legs after a day of walking...
Thank You.
