I have been renting one room in my home since 2011. A super-host and guest favorite in a well-known website that provides similar experience for the guests.
I'm 54 years old. Linguist by major; film festival coordinator and dreamer by profession. I work from home. In my room. I'm a non-smoker and INTJ-A personality. I like calm life, nature, arthouse cinema, poetry, history and coffee.
I am offering a private room for one person. If you're looking for a serene atmosphere where you can study or work at home, bingo! You will stay in a tranquil, no surprises flat.
A comfortable IKEA double bed (140x200cm) with one-inch mattress pad, a functional wardrobe, a desk & chair for your brilliant ideas, 60W tower fan that's a remote away! 7/24 hot water, 100 Mbps limitless optical fiber internet, central heating, washing machine, drying machine, iron, hairdryer. Clean towels, extra linens and bathrobe are provided. The rooms have keys for privacy. The rent includes all utilities.
Located in a very secure, popular, calm and pleasant neighbourhood and 30 meters to historical Validecesme fountain (Not a must-see Ottoman fountain. This is just a heads up about the approximate whereabouts of the house since it's a FAQ.) It's on the 4th floor without elevator, without A/C, clean, bright and quiet. The flat is 800 sqft, the room is 140 sqft. You can reach almost anything within walking distance. There are also two very close parks to spend time.
The flat has two independent rooms, shared living room, shared bathroom and shared kitchen. (FAQ: You'll share with me. Yes, only me.)
The kitchen is equipped with mini fridge, pop-up toaster, toaster press, smoothie blender, food processor, tea machine, coffee machine, cooktop, electric oven, steam cooker and other kithchenware. I find microwaves detrimental to health, so I've chosen not to keep one. Black tea, herbal tea, coffee beans and capsule coffee are provided.
You can make delivery orders from supermarkets and online restaurants and find groceries, markets, cafes, pharmacies, bookstores, juice bar, dry cleaning just close by.
By walking, it is 8 min to downtown Besiktas; plus another 7 min to the ferry port (it takes 10 min to Uskudar and 20 min to Kadikoy by boat); 14 min to posh Nisantasi; 20 min to transportation center Kabatas where there are trams to historical peninsula and ferries to the Islands; 25 min to Taksim Square; 20 min to Osmanbey metro station.

About the Area
Validecesme is a peaceful, secure and cosy neighbourhood with its special character where people mostly know each other for years. Graced by lots of trees and the presence of friendly cats along its meandering lanes. Not noisy though it's very central Istanbul. It's really pleasant to go out for a walk at night. One of neighbourhoods where you can effortlessly get a feeling of Istanbul.

House Rules
* I apply Quiet Hours Rule from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including weekends. I expect my guest limit the noise and keep it down during phone calls, games, videos, music etc. For myself and building neighbours.
* Please keep the common places clean.
* Please make sure you leave the kitchen clean right after you cook.
* Please limit your baggage to 30 kgs.
* Please don't bring guests or family, nor their luggages.
* Please compensate when you break/damage something.
* Please gather the trash in your room into a bin bag before you check out.
* No pets allowed.
* No events allowed.

First Aid Kit is at the bathroom, on top of the washing machine. Fire Extinguisher is at the entrance of the living room.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
