Set within walking distance of a historic medieval market town, Boston boasts a plethora of fascinating history and heritage to discover. The grandness of our 700 year old church St Botolph's with its imposing tower reaching 272 ft towards the heavens, and 365 steps of climbing provides a fabulous 360 degree view of our town its an outstanding monument to medieval stonemasons and connections to some of Boston's famous sons and daughters and their American connections. The Guildhall illustrates merchant medieval life and bringing to life the plight of the Pilgrim Fathers whom were imprisoned here.

With the land flat and much reclaimed the restored fully working Maud Foster windmill, the tallest working mill in the country, provides a detailed example of wind power and the millers tour is well worth the personal animated talk of the ancient art of milling and how these glorious buildings still function, with a small shop the products of the mill are available to purchase. Blackfriars Art Centre is a thriving community lead theatre and provides live entertainment from its remaining medieval friary.

Boston has always been a great trading centre, from the 13th century a lively port, with the area now predomitlary food growing after the draining of the fens in the late 18th century the availiabily of local produce and artisan purveyors is rich, there is a farmers market is held every third Wednesday of the month, and a stunning weekly market held on both Saturdays and Wednesdays and a open air auction that for the last 450 years has been providing locals and visitors with everything to fresh food to bycycles!

An excellent choice of family ran and independent shops, restaurants and cafes surround the market place lining the medieval lanes.

The river Witham provide a pleasant walk along this old train line, its possible to walk or cycle to Lincoln following the river course -
