Our family home is on a quiet tree-lined avenue in the Fiveways area just a walk or short bus ride from the centre of Brighton and the seafront. London Road train station is a 5 minute walk away with regular services to Brighton station, Lewes and along the coast. We are 10 minute walk from London Road with the Duke of York's cinema, the Open Market and lively bars, shops and restaurants.
I am a single mum and live with my 18 year old daughter and 1 cat in our four bedroom home.
We are offering a light and spacious double loft room tucked away at the top of the house with views of the city and shared use of the family bathroom.
If you require a desk, there is also an additional desk area available upon request.
Payment can be via cash or PayPal.

About the Area
Fiveways is a quiet and leafy suburb with plenty of good pubs, independent shops and cafes, and 2 parks. We are 3km from the city centre, a 30 minute drive from Gatwick airport and 2 minutes from a bus stop with buses to the centre and seafront running around every 10 minutes.

Hosts can offer a complimentary light breakfast at their discretion. All other meals, including a full breakfast, might incur an additional cost, if offered. Meals and any additional payment should be arranged directly with your host.

House Rules
Please feel free to use the kitchen and bathroom, if possible avoiding peak hours (peak times are weekdays: bathroom 6am-7am and kitchen 7am-8:30am and 6pm-7:30pm ).
You are welcome to use the laundry facilities in the evenings, upto 2 washes per week.
We keep a clean and tidy home and would like you to help us maintain that so please clear up after yourself.
Please do not put anything on the walls or door of your room (pins, tape, blu-tac etc.) and look after the furnishings. If you have a spillage (other than water) please let me know so I can assist with clearing it up.
Please keep noise to a minimum after 11pm (and before 9am at weekends) and we will do the same. No showers/baths after 10:00pm please.
Bedlinen and towels are provided.
No guests without prior permission.
If you would like your room cleaned (on a Tues morning) please let me know in advance and prop open your door.

Please note that Council Tax is not included in the price, so if you are not a full time student you are likely to be required to pay Council Tax.
If you are a smoker please do not apply.
Cancellation Terms:
1. No charges will be applied if the booking is cancelled before two weeks prior to arrival. After arrival, cancellations will not be accepted unless in exceptional circumstances and at the host’s discretion.

My time at Julia's place was perfect for the first half of my stay in Brighton! Julia is a lovely host as she was very welcoming and super helpful during my entire stay. The room was super cosy and had everything I needed. Besides, Julia's home is located in a very nice neighbourhood with bus stops, cafes and a little supermarket nearby.

I really enjoyed my time in Brighton! The house, the room were as expected and really cozy. And Julia and her daughters (and Pho) are very welcoming, kind and always ready to help :). Thank you very much for the pleasant stay!

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
