Hi there, I'm Deirdre and my partner and I live in St Leonard's on sea, an interesting seaside resort on the south coast of England which neighbours historic Hastings. We are excellent hosts in that we are sociable and love to make people feel comfortable and welcome in our home.
I'm Irish and have lived in England for 20 years. My Irish warmth and hospitality will ensure that you have a relaxed and fun time in my home.
We live in a large yet cosy Victorian house with an open communal living area where we hang out. We also have a lovely garden with terrace where we barbecue and enjoy the good weather when we're lucky enough!
I love to cook and bake tasty food which could be healthy or naughty....
I offer my home as a simple B&B or with English lessons. There's no easier way to learn a language. I have a CELTA English teaching certificate and as a trained actress, I am an excellent communicator.
Trips to local/national places of interest can be easily organised, airport pickup too. Whatever suits you.

About the Area
Our house is a 15 minute walk from St Leonard's on sea train station; about 15mins walk from the seafront and 20 mins walk from Hastings with its historic town centre. There are lots of local buses & trains.
It's a quiet area but St Leonard's has lots of seafront cafés, restaurants and bars to suit all budgets. Shopping is great with plenty of independant shops & boutiques, Vintage specialists and shopping centres.
You can have lovely, long walks along the promenade towards Hastings or Bexhill on sea, take a dip in the sea, lounge on the beach or take a short drive to the numerous quaint villages in the surrounding English countryside.
St Leonard's on sea is a direct train journey from London, taking one and a half hours and from Brighton taking one hour. Easy access to Eurostar/Eurotunnel via Ashford Intl.

House Rules
Quiet house so no lads/ladettes please.
House security important so care with front door/keys required.
No smoking indoors, in garden if really necessary.
No cooking allowed in kitchen but a separate fridge and tea/coffee facilities
are available in kitchen.
I keep a clean house and so appreciate good manners with personal cleanliness.

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
