About the Homestay
We live on a busy road in Kingston Upon Thames in a very safe neighbourhood, very close to the train station - which gets you into Waterloo - Central London, in 25 minutes. From Waterloo, there are various tube lines and buses which will take you wherever you wish to go in London. There is also a 24-hour bus from Central London which runs close by. Kingston itself is a very historic town with lots to see and do, it has a University so lots of cafes, bars and nightclubs as well as historic places of interest to visit. We live within walking distance of Richmond Park a huge royal park with wild deer and perfect for long walks but also the river Thames which is great for local walks.
Our house has 4 bedrooms but our children have now left home, so there are only my husband and myself here now. We have a small double room with a king-sized bed on offer with an en-suite shower room for 2 people sharing, it has french doors onto a balcony and over looks the garden and it has it's own TV. Plus a single room for one person, also with a TV - who will use the family bathroom solely for themselves because we have our own bathroom. We also have a chairlift for anyone not able-bodied enough to climb the stairs. We also have wi-fi throughout the house.
Along with the basic light breakfast of tea/coffee/juice, fruit salad, cereal and/or toast, we will provide an evening meal (traditional English food) if required, at a cost of £7 per head.

The town is a shopper's paradise, has 14 cinema screens and even has a ten pin bowling alley it also has a historical market. we had really a wonderful stay with Catherine and Mervyn. Thanks you for all your warmfull welcoming, your kindness and your help. I look forward to seeing you again soon. Kheira
Cathrine is a fresh London whirlwind. She helped us immediately with a rebooking of our ferry and was always at our side with words and deeds.
Our room and bathroom was nice and big and equipped with all necessary things. There was even a balcony, which we could hardly use because of the weather.
The stay with her and her husband was very pleasant.
Such a lovely host! I was welcomed so warmly I definitely recommend this host. Thank you again Cathy and Marvin
We had an unforgettable time with Cathy and Mervyn.
The room is spacious and clean and everything you needed you needed is available including good wifi and a free car parking in front of the house.
The shower and toilet are clean and there are plenty of flannels and towels.
The breakfast was very extensive with fruit, cornflakes, fruit juice, bread etc.etc. also the newspaper was present.
The dinner on Sunday evening was very good, Cathy is a very good cook.
Cathy and Mervyn are very helpful, when on Monday morning the train did not go, Cathy immediately brought us to Wimbledon station by car which saved our day!
Norbiton rail station is a 5 minute walk and the train will take you directly to Waterloo station in 20 minutes. This station is at the London Eye and the Big Ben.
Norbiton station is in zone 5, and you can pay for the train with the Oystercard
This host does not deserve 5 but 10 hearts and we will definitely choose Cathy and Mervyn again in the future.
Wonderfully friendly and welcoming stay with hosts - very comfortable bed so had a great nights sleep. Fresh fruit salad for breakfast was great way to start the day and short walk to the station made it easy to get to central London. Highly recommended :)
Superbe séjour. Hôtes très acceuillants. Si je reviens en Angleterre, ce sera mon premier choix!
Lovely to meet you. Made very welcome and fed very well too. Definitely back in the autumn - look forward to more conversation xx
Cath and Mervyn were absolutely awesome. Cath's food is amazing as well
Thank you Catherine and Marvin! It was a pleasant staying at your house. Everything was organized and there is a felt of routine and experience at my hosts while they're treating their guests. Salute to Teeah!
The house is in a very queit place near the railway station, which we found very useful. It was very nice to have a chat and a cup of coffee with Mervin and Catherine in the evening. They also gave us lots of information about London and helpful tips to get around.
