Rochester is a historic place, Rochester Cathedral and Rochester Castle is short stroll away. There are
many restaurants coffee shops and bars. There is a supermarket and chemist close by. Rochester and Strood train station are within walking distance. The local buses are frequent. The bedroom
faces the river where yachts are moored, there is open green space opposite the house. The bedroom is lovely and bright and has two single beds and ample storage space. WIFI and free-view TV in the bedroom, table and chairs also in bedroom. Tea/coffee making facilities and kettle in bedroom. There is a mini fridge and microwave in the room for guest staying two nights or more, also plates and cutlery available.
The bathroom is modern and spacious with walk in shower which is next door to bedroom. Iron and ironing board available upon request. Hair dryer in room.
There is free parking 7pm until 8am outside the house or free parking close by or parking meters.
I have no pets.
I am friendly and welcoming.
I enjoy a spot of gardening and seeing the changes throughout the seasons.

About the Area
My home is near Rochester Cathedral and Rochester Castle and just a few minutes walk away. Charles Dickens wrote some of his classic novels here. There are local festivals and concerts locally throughout the year. Local bars and restaurants as well as coffee shops are also within a few minutes walk. There is a tourist information centre and quaint shops and supermarkets close by. There is a vantage point where you can see the stretch of river and beyond for miles. Rochester is the local train station also strood train station is close by. Trains go to London Victoria and St Pancras and Dover Priory. Local buses are frequent. By car the and M2 and A2 roads leads to Rochester.

Great place! Shirley was super nice and the place was just down the road from the castle. We were practically under it! Also Shirley kept a great homemade guide book on all the local attractions so it was easy to stay busy. Would recommend!

How do I book?
Contact the host to check their availability and ask them any questions you have about staying with them. Once the host confirms they’re available for your dates, you can complete your booking.
When do I pay?
Once a host confirms they're available, you can go ahead and pay the 15% booking fee (maximum of 250 $£€ for longer term bookings) using a choice of payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro, Laser, JCB & PayPal (not available in certain countries). You then pay your host on arrival or as stated by your host on their profile and agreed by you on booking. Please be cautious if a host requests advance payment if its not included on their profile. Our hosts have been advised that if they wish to request advance payment they must make this explicit in their profile. We do not recommend the use of Money gram or Western Union.
When can I share my contact details?
Host and Guest email address, phone number and home address will be exchanged in a confirmation email sent to both immediately after a booking is completed. It's against our policy for Guests and Hosts to exchange direct contact details via our messaging system.
